My cleaner is like Lucy, my house is the football and I am a miserable Charlie Brown. This is the 3rd time this week she has told me she is coming at 8 am to clean my house and then has messaged -always after I have got up early and am sat waiting her arrival -to tell me she’s not coming after all.

On my way to work and saw a dad carrying his son - about 2 and a half, I’d say - and they were both in mild hysterics, just really laughing hard together and it has cheered up my whole day.

TRUMP: I invented electricity. did it one day, turned on a lamp and a scientist gasped and said wow how did you do that and I said I just flicked a switch and he started crying and saying "sir you've just saved Africa from ebola"

Reasons to resign:

Tories: doubling the cost of mortgages; throwing birthday parties while people are separated from their dying relatives for reasons you imposed

Labour: holding press conference & not saying thing that previously you had later said was not untrue but which the OBR didn't also say

So I told DPD Local they could leave my parcel in my enclosed porch (in my gated block of flats) - instead they chose to leave it on the street in front of a different house on a different street. Unsurprisingly it got stolen. They are very much a shower!

Amol Rajan introducing the lifting of the 2 child cap without ever mentioning it lifts children out of poverty, just all the reasons why the Tories hate it, but no, the BBC isn’t partisan. #r4Today

“This is about economic incompetence” says Mel Stride and that he knows the conservatives had “their challenges in government” - wow - stunning understatement and disingenuousness. #r4Today

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Post hoc ergo proper hoc - can we please disentangle failed asylum seekers having children and not being sent home from the reason people have children - do we really believe that’s the main reason they are having them? Really?? #r4Today

Can someone ask the government minister why giving people a legal route to enter the country to claim asylum would not serve as a disincentive to getting on a dangerous boat? Why do we think refugees care about their children less than us, ffs? #r4Today

We should stop the boats because it's dangerous, and we should stop the scapegoating of immigrants because it's wrong and cruel.

Controlled migration is good for the country, helps build our economy and diversity strengthens our communities. (1/6) 🧵
