Government: get off social media and go outside
Also the government: no! Not like that!
The increasing capitalisation of third spaces, the social media ban, disconnect from public sentiment around current affairs in other places atm, and boredom. So much boredom
📢 Riot police were called in to disperse a large group of teenagers allegedly brawling on Mordialloc beach.

Protect trans kids 🙏 Trans lives matter.
BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene's bill to criminalize parents and providers for providing gender-affirming care to anyone under 18 just passed.

It's the most significant attempt by federal lawmakers to restrict the healthcare for children in the US. My update: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Health workers decry hasty House bills to ban gender-affirming care for children: ‘They hurt people’
Two bills, one passing House, mark first time Congress votes over national care bans and escalation of anti-trans rhetoric

MORE from Jack Smith:

"Our investigation also developed powerful evidence that showed President Trump willfully retained highly classified documents after he left office in January 2021 ... He then repeatedly tried to obstruct justice to conceal his continued retention of those documents."
BREAKING on MS NOW:

Jack Smith, in his opening statement to House Judiciary, says:

"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power."

Isn't a lot of video content actually citing (and influenced by) text-based writing and reporting? Ahem.
i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.

Why is... "text-based social media" posting "dicking around"? Jeez.

Republicans desperately want to talk about health care or have Trump talk about affordability or offer words of comfort after the shooting in Rhode Island or Australia. Instead they now have to answer for his comments on Rob Reiner.

This is what ISIS and al Qaeda supporters occasionally do: Claim and endorse unrelated acts of violence. Terrorism by acclamation.
The president is using this apparent family tragedy, which as far as we know had absolutely nothing to do with him, to convey the message that if his fans brutally murder his critics, they will receive his support and approval.
Q: A number of Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it?

TRUMP: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.

Is it only me or does LinkedIn freeze up (struggle to load) when you have multiple LinkedIn tabs open? So frustrating to experience while researching.

This is Charles Clyde Ebbets, the photographer who took the iconic “Lunch atop a Skyscraper” picture. Look at this fearless, dapper fuck wearing spats, suspenders, and a tie 850 feet above the ground. Absolute legend.
Here he is taking the photo.

Exactly
David Ellison appears to be mortified that CBS/60 Minutes is “going rogue” by covering the news and by keeping him “in the dark” about a segment critical of Trump.

Because Ellison doesn’t realize that’s how it’s supposed to work.

It's so cringe when people behind the news say "It's been an interesting day from the standpoint of news." I'm not talking about journalists or reporters, I'm talking about decision-makers. And you don't deem it interesting. We do.
