Who would have guessed that after years of building nothing but student accommodation in Nottingham we'd end up with an oversupply.

Don't really have a dog in the ban-social-media-for-under-16s fight, but seems utterly irrational to demand it now. A country which is comparable to Britain has just done so. Surely, if you were remotely committed to evidence, you would take a year to see how it goes before proposing we copy them.

A lot of people are putting a lot of hope/trust in the US Mid Terms to stop Trump's worst excesses. That is, a rather big, assumption that the elections are not rigged the result respected. I'm really not confident.

I think the White House badly underestimates the strength of the pan-European folk memory of 1930s appeasement, and how deep it still cuts. I suppose this is what happens when you learn in school that WW2 started in 1941 in Hawaii.

This is appalling in so many ways. But the bonus is that the fundraising is now exceeded expectations as a result of a huge F-You to whichever tossers made those threats. gofund.me/587c38469. Chip if you can, everyone.

"Under the weather" is a funny way to spell "chicken"
Farage is apparently 'under the weather' today and unable to talk about the US threats to the UK and Europe over Greenland.

Which is unfortunate.

Really not sure when a British PM was so direct in criticising the US.

Wonder if Starmer has his role model Wilson in mind from 1966?

Does mean we've had sovereignty over the White House since 1812?
Fascinating theory of international sovereignty Stephen, but I think I've heard it before and the Great Khan was more charismatic in his delivery.

UK politics at the moment seems a fairly even split between racists, whatever the collective noun is for the naïve, and people who just hope the grown ups will eventually appear.
