Rain chances (finally) return next week! Showers Tuesday probably won't amount to much, but more impactful rain looks increasingly likely for Presidents Day weekend.

A very serious expression from "Iris," but there's nothing to worry about in Friday's forecast. Morning clouds and fog will give way to afternoon sun, with temperatures still above-normal. Better air quality too! Details on Iris here:

Spare The Air alert on Thursday, with air quality likely to veer into the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" range across much of the Bay Area.

Some improvement to our air quality Friday and Saturday, then we'll get back into a more unsettled/showery pattern next week.

To put it another way: Jeff Bezos could easily ensure there are no staff cuts at The Washington Post for the next decade, and he'd still have more than $249B in net worth left over.
Jeff Bezos' wedding last summer cost somewhere around $50M. That, alone, could have saved all 300 positions cut today at The Washington Post for a year.

Of course, he wouldn't have to choose. He could do both because he's worth $250B, which is nearly the GDP of New Zealand.

Super Bowl Sunday showers? Forecast models are in disagreement over the Bay Area's chances, but the more reliable data points to a decent chance. Far from "locked in" at this point, but something we'll watch throughout the week...

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

"Boots" is calmly evaluating the weekend, and he'll mostly like what he sees in the forecast: above-average temperatures, with sunshine being filtered by haze and some high clouds. This wise-looking boy is available from Roxy's Ranch Haven:

It didn't take long for the haze and poor air quality to return. More of the same tomorrow, then some improvement Sunday and Monday as a passing storm system stirs the lowest levels of the atmosphere.

No rain from that storm system, though — it will miss us well to the north.
