A perfect autumn picture for one more warm fall day — Tuesday's highs will be about 4°-8° above-average, so "Kaju" can enjoy plenty of outside time.

Wear out your pups tomorrow if you can, because showers return on Wednesday, then rainy and windy weather is back on Thursday.

Most of the West Coast will experience atmospheric river conditions at some point over the next seven days. Range of possibilities for the Bay Area is between AR-1 and AR-3 impacts, specifically Wednesday night into early Thursday. Heavy rain and gusty winds likely! #CAwx

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Today's wet and windy weather will be long gone by tomorrow, so "Reba" is all smiles for some outside time. She's adoptable from the East County Animal Shelter in Dublin — details here:

Rainfall and maximum wind gusts since midnight. About a dozen tree damage reports relayed to NWS so far, just a couple of minor flooding incidents.

Winds should diminish and showers will slowly fizzle out the rest of the day!

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Too wet and too windy for "Tank" to get out for a walk, but he might be able to sneak out between the leftover showers in the afternoon. This handsome fella is available from Lily's Legacy:

Get ready for a wet and windy Wednesday morning commute! Widespread flooding isn't likely, but a few flood-prone intersections could collect enough water to be problematic.

Bigger issue looks like the wind energy with this system — sporadic power outages and downed trees/branches look likely. #CAwx

One last Halloween picture in the dog-walking forecast — "Rico" the picklepup and "Ruby" the paw-dle. Pleasant walking weather for these guys on Tuesday, before rainy and windy weather arrives on Wednesday. Wear your pups out tomorrow if you can!
November 4, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Wednesday is a First Alert day, as a storm system brings rain and gusty winds to the Bay Area. Some of the heaviest rain and strongest winds will occur during the Wednesday morning commute — if you have the option of working from home, that seems like a pretty good idea! #CAwx

I mean, his name *IS* Leo…
November 1, 2025 at 2:23 AM
Seems appropriate for a pup named "Trick" to be the face of the dog-walking forecast on Halloween! Really nice weather in store for this patient boy this weekend — lots of sunshine, with slightly above-average temperatures. Enjoy!

When the dog’s name is Leo, he really leaves us no choice

Next week's rain will be delivered by an atmospheric river — latest model guidance suggests it will rank as an AR-2 on the 1 to 5 scale. That means mostly beneficial rain, but also the threat of localized flooding and gusty winds. Still a few days away, so we'll be watching for any changes! #CAwx

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Handsome "Hudson" is ready to soak up the sunshine on Friday — nothing spooky in the weather on Halloween, just slightly above-average temperatures. He's adoptable from the East County Animal Shelter in Dublin...details here:

Oooh, pretty

The next rain chance won't head our way until the middle of next week — most likely Tuesday night and Wednesday. Looks like a decent rain-maker at this point! #CAwx

The forecast is looking good for the trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Warm for the younger kids early in the evening, cooling off after sunset...

"Hachiko" is going to find out this Halloween if gentlemen really do prefer blondes. Regardless of fur pigment, your pups get to enjoy pleasant weather on Thursday! Morning fog and clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine and near-normal temperatures.

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Wednesday will be the warmest day we see for a while...maybe a little too warm for "Sadie" to walk, but she looks content to lounge on the lawn. She's looking for a fur-ever family — details here:

#Melissa is losing some organization as it interacts with the mountainous terrain of Jamaica, but it’s still an incredibly powerful storm.

At landfall, central pressure was 892mb, tied for the lowest pressure of a landfalling hurricane in the Atlantic.

We'll start off Halloween week with "Koda" the witch...although I'm sure she's a GOOD witch. Perfect weather for her on Tuesday, with abundant sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures!
October 28, 2025 at 1:25 AM
Tonight on CBS News 24/7 Prime/Time, I talked about the impacts Hurricane #Melissa will bring to Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba this week. This will be the strongest hurricane on record to hit Jamaica — the last major hurricane to make landfall was Gilbert in 1988.
October 28, 2025 at 12:47 AM
#Melissa is a Category 4 storm after undergoing rapid intensification…and it will reach Category 5 strength tomorrow as it hits Jamaica.

Devastating wind damage is far from the only concern — literally FEET of rain will cause widespread flooding and landslides.

Two rounds of showers this weekend: one early Saturday, the next Sunday morning. Neither will amount to much, but have an indoor alternative for any outdoor plans, just in case!
