Since Trump has claimed Elon doesn’t run DOGE, we wanted to make sure you know who is running our government. This list has been updated with 15 names.

we have a president with a tenuous grip on small legislative majorities who is out of the gate with a flurry of dramatically unpopular orders and who has just demonstrated his weakness on the international stage. if i were an elected member of his domestic opposition, i might try to draw real blood.

At least 75% of American punditry at this point is packaging the least challenging ideas imaginable as forbidden truths.
A key to the success of the whole Bari Weiss grift is that a lot of top media people actually sympathize with it. She pretends it's like pirate radio but it's actually a major strain of thinking throughout mainstream media.
News: Chuck Lane, deputy opinion editor for The Washington Post, is leaving the newspaper.

Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.

This is what's so baffling about so many suggestions for AI in the humanities classroom: they mistake the product for the point. Writing outlines and essays is important not because you need to make outlines and essays but because that's how you learn to think with/through complex ideas.
I'm sure many have said this before but I'm reading a student-facing document about how students might use AI in the classroom (if allowed) and one of the recs is: use AI to make an outline of your reading! But ISN'T MAKING THE OUTLINE how one actually learns?

Writing is thinking.

It’s not a part of the process that can be skipped; it’s the entire point.

Like during the Bush years, The Daily Show is 💯 doing the best political analysis right now

Their irreverent humor and satire 😂 + brains 🧠 + sprinkling of swear words 🙊 gets at common sense and truth in ways that are beyond the reach of most mainstream pundit robots 🤖

Anyone you see on your timeline right now praising RFK Jr. is a person you never need to take seriously on anything ever again.

It is difficult to overstate just how extreme, conspiratorial, and insane RFK’s views are, on vaccines, microchips & beyond. He’s Alex Jones in a suit.

Wow, Laurie Anderson is just incredible. Check out her recent performance of C. P. Cavafy's (alas, always timely) poem, "Waiting for the Barbarians."

“Why isn’t anything going on in the senate?

Why are the senators sitting there without legislating?

Because the barbarians are coming today.”
