Working with this amazing Farmer-led Landscape Recovery collaboration of so many individual farmers with a vision to deliver evidence-based habitats at landscape-scale has been uplifting & gives me optimism for a better future 🌍 #Biodiversity
The Breckland Farmers Wildlife Network is a farmer-led group. We came together 12 years ago to collaborate on creating a landscape scale wildlife network in the Brecks. We're very proud to now have 58 members and cover over 50,000ha.

Fascinating blog - a Spanish montane localised endemic butterfly losing habitat to climate change and land use change - both abandonment and grazing intensification.
We have a new blog on our efforts to save one of Europe's most threatened butterflies: the Nevada Grayling (Pseudochazara williamsi), found in just a few locations in southern Spain.

Britons living in rural areas support banning trail hunting by 50% to 35%

Most rural Britons say hunting has little to no importance to rural communities socially (51%) or economically (58%)

These are the largest collective hunger strikes in Britain since the Irish republican strikes of the 1980s. Then, Martin Hurson died after 46 days on strike. Bobby Sands was elected an MP from prison; he died after 66 days.

So often, radical land-use change and dietary shifts could counterbalance climate impacts. But are opposed by vested money interests that have more power than humanity or people’s wellbeing.
Here's a study - and a graph that illustrates the findings (on that graph, read "cattle" for "livestock: it's almost all cows and their feed.)

What's REALLY putting jobs at risk is owners of the big fishing boats insisting on being allowed to continue hoovering up tons of wild animals way faster than they can reproduce, using ecosystem-killing methods.

Good grief, when will the reintroductionists stop playing silly games and start getting on with doing something that actually benefits nature recovery? The amount of money and effort that’s been ploughed into pointless reintroduction is criminal.

Shit. The rate at which we emit CO2 is accelerating, not declining. We really need to get our act together
Breaking News!
Code Yikes!

The CO2 data for November, 2025, was just released by NOAA, and the 3-year mean rate of atmospheric CO2 growth hit yet another new record high, at 7.93 ppm per 3 years.

That dip in the early 1990's is due to Mt. Pinatubo.
