Increasingly ticked-off Canadian. Straight but not narrow. Fascinated by astronomy, music, and our canine companions. Unhealthily obsessed with the Chicago Cubs. Pro Oxford Comma. He/him.
These threads (about threads) are tremendous.
Let me show you the difference between a $40 hoodie and a ~$100 hoodie. 🧵

The Charge are one of the best things to happen for Ottawa sports fans in a LONG time - please, Ottawa city council, DON`T SCREW THIS UP!
I want Ottawa Charge fans to understand that if Lansdowne 2.0 goes through as-is, there’s a genuine threat that we’ll lose our women’s hockey team. This would be devastating to our city, and to all the women + girls who have found hope and community in the PWHL.

PWHL executives Jayna Hefford and Amy Scheer write that it's not too late to change the story on Lansdowne 2.0.

I’ve always said that some day, I’d be able to do the dishes after a big roast chicken dinner without soaking the front of my shirt.

Friends, today is not that day.

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

I'm still outraged that The Cat Came Back did not win an Oscar.
Happy International Animation Day!
A perfect day to celebrate the animated films of the National Film Board. The NFB's animated films have won 6 Oscars. Their great films include The Log Driver's Waltz, The Hockey Sweater, Blackfly and Bob's Birthday.

The desperate need to accumulate more and more at the cost of everyone else’s wellbeing should be classified as a mental disorder, and I will absolutely die on this hill.
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

Please keep being THAT dictionary, @merriam-webster.com
Not to be THAT dictionary, but…

It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’
It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'

Important stuff to know, Ottawa peeps.
In the second instalment of Who To Call, I feature the homelessness outreach van that is available by calling 311 in Ottawa.

If you see someone sleeping rough or in a tent, you can call 24/7 (anywhere in the city). These folks will come and help people access shelter and permanent housing.
