This @halfpasttwoska.bsky.social cover pulled me forward in my chair. “Lookers” was already a great song, but having a woman singer explodes the possible meanings—is it still about an old flame, or a lost friend, an idol, a crush, a rival? Plus, killer organs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESIS...

He did this, unmasked, in full view of multiple cameras and onlookers. If you saw this kind of assault happen on the street you'd call the police.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

I cannot believe they made a The Long Walk movie.
It was excruciating to read. I cannot even imagine watching it.
But I am *very* glad they are releasing it now, in Trump's USA.
Because it will show us the bullet in the head that's coming for us if Republicans continue to rule.

Trump will sign an executive order today that allows your 401K money to be invested in private equity. Aside from what that means for your retirement fund, it will also roughly DOUBLE the amount of money P.E. firms have at their disposal to take over companies/hospitals/housing/etc.

I missed the news of Ruth Buzzi's death. Laugh-In's 25th anniversary tributes rolled out when I was in high school and I became an instant fan. She seemed like a neat lady. RIP.

The tariff saga and its impact on disabled people cannot be separated from the administration’s brutal cuts to Medicaid.

Non-standard colors on team hats has gone too far. Pink hats were marketing genius. Black hats, sure. But yesterday I saw a dude who’d capped off his fit with an Orioles hat in Phillies brick red.

No, sir. There is a line. We don’t play that here.

A funny thing my wife does is listen to podcasts about the activity she is doing—organizing podcasts when she's decluttering, cooking podcasts when she's cooking, etc. It's as predictable as clockwork.

A HILARIOUS thing my wife does is deny that she does this.

Government outsources major projects, outsources the oversight of those projects, and then is surprised when the projects don't go well. Here we see the MTA would rather spend $186M than simply hire a handful of MTA employees to provide actual oversight.

This will go badly.
MTA plans to hire $186M consultant to oversee Second Avenue subway construction
The agency is moving forward with the extension of the line into East Harlem, which will cost an estimated $7.7 billion to complete.

Chris Murphy seems to be one of the only Dems who really gets the urgency of what is happening now.
Chris Murphy: "I read the headlines about the Liz Cheney criminal referral and almost every single one of them in mainstream media played this straight as if it was a normal function of legislative power, instead of telling the truth, which is that this is made up out of thin air."

This is EXACTLY why police cannot be a part of the labor movement. They have their own union and it used AGAINST the public. It used to HARM the public. To STEAL from taxpayers to cover their own asses. They are an arm of the government. They cannot stand with the people
This post from @alexnpress.bsky.social is just too on the nose of how law enforcement is used and implemented to protect the capital of the obscenely rich.
