As I have said, we are literally Russia now. This is what Russia did to Ukraine. Amassing this much killing machinery and bodies has an inertia of its own. Even if they were cowards, all it now takes is one misfire, one bad command, one accidental encounter.
There's a good chance the reports that the White House hadn't decided on what to do about Venezuela yet was an attempt at deception tbh. An entire CSG on top of everything else already in theater is *a lot*.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

If Russia is going to experience a lasting process of change that enables peaceful and friendly relations with its neighbours, then societal debate will have to honestly look at why 10s of millions of people willingly, even gladly, followed Putin's orders.
