How do journalists get records from government agencies through @freedom.press public records requests? Is that something anyone can access?

Just a note here that the Secretary of Transportation oversees the FAA, an org that has been actively on fire for decades at this point.
The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

Journalists and op-ed writers are almost universally shit. People outside these professions tend to produce more compelling, interesting writers for many reasons.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

“This weight presses on me every day. I am flooded with stories. There are so many I cannot remember them all; cannot keep straight who was gassed, beaten, abducted, or shot. I write to leave a record, to stare at the track of the tornado. I write to leave a warning. I write to call for help.”

Remembering a line from ALAB here at Don’t Document University that went “you can be substantively crazy or procedurally crazy, but you shouldn’t do both.”

AI produces the version of Aloy that misogynist gamers say they want BY DEFAULT. It will always be lipgloss and smooth skin. It will always work in service of the desires of the assumed-to-be straight white male viewer.

AI women exist to comfort men who hate real women.

These people are all Homelander without the charisma.
I know people think Musk only bought Twitter to help the rise of fascism.

While that’s important, I still think it’s secondary to his primary goal, which was to own the place where his fans praise him.

With AI, Musk’s use of the platform for love and validation is only getting more transparent.

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.

Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!

At a distance so much of it seemed to be “I love my city and like you, I take the subway. Things could be better,” and I’m not even sure Cuomo knows how the subway works.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Jason Stanley's publicist is as good as or even better than the natalist glasses couple's publicist
Jason Stanley isn’t afraid to use the F-word when talking about President Donald Trump.

The author of How Fascism Works and Erasing History: How Fascists Rewrite the Past to Control the Future is clear: He believes the US is currently under an authoritarian regime led by a fascist leader.
I study fascism. I’ve already fled America.
On this week’s “More To The Story,” former Yale philosophy professor Jason Stanley explains his recent move to Canada and calls the Trump administration’s takeover of the US government a “coup.”

You may think this is an easy one, but what if you're a billionaire already planning to have retreated to an underground bunker in ten years, and need a technology which can persuade everyone else that everything is fine, really?
A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB
