And now something fun. For every like this post gets, a real photo by me. I've done this before (one time I got over a hundred likes!). But let's do it again.

And I will tell you about the photo

Going to give you a freebie right off the bat. This is the photo I used in my post on generative AI.

Elise's year-end sale has not *quite* reached the Fucking Ridiculous levels it will inevitably reach by Tuesday or Wednesday yet, but it's getting there!
This category, and other things just got marked down too, because

you know how I get
It's time for the end of year @lionesselise.bsky.social many things on sale.

Elise just marked the entire "Inspired by Celia Lake" category down 50%, but check out the many other gorgeous things too.

We are about 1/3 of the way to our matching goal, which is so exciting but there is still a long way to go! Little Eloise the piglet is one of the many residents we have here who would likely no longer be alive if we didn't exist. donorbox.org/end-of-year-...

Clomping around the house in my hiking boots because my walking shoes suddenly stopped containing any support (manufacturer says replace every six months, I say As If; they are usually good for nine and these made it more than a year). Knees had fits about failed shoes, but slyly only one by one.

Well now, would you look at that? A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Mohamed Ahmed is back on Bluesky and he and his family could absolutely use support! You probably remember him if you've been following me for a while, he has established a small farm next to his tent in Mawasi refugee camp, and posts pictures of it regularly.
Hello everyone, I took some pictures of my plants today and they're growing wonderfully. There's news that a low-pressure system will hit Gaza next Saturday. Please share this and donate; I need donations.

This experiment ends tonight at midnight Minneapolis time, about five hours from now, though you probably better figure four and a half or four and three quarters to leave time for me to see your offer, roll the dice, and reply, and you to buy it.

So far, big fun!

Someone has a cold, so we put off celebrating our secular Christmas and one partner's birthday for a few days.
I froze the salmon and the apple crisp.
We'll have to eat mashed potatoes, roasted mushrooms, the pumpkin pie. Oh no.
The cold sufferer will be comforted with the mince pie. I get some too.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

Headed to bed with $405 needed to bridge the gap this week. If you see this, will you please share this? That's a big help!
Hey friends, I've been trying to make it work without asking for help, but unemployment just isn't enough. I'm about a grand short for the month, but if we could raise $500 this week it would solve a lot of problems. Thanks for any help!
