I really love that we're at the cultural point wher the sewage treatment plant gets to make jokes about the media ecosystem.

(Also I kinda love this video - water infrastructure is awesome!)

In light of today’s palaeo news, and whilst not claiming to be a visionary genius or anything (that’s for history to judge… 😉) I’m just gonna drop my illustration of a quilled and spiky iguanodon from back in 2021.

Sometimes you don’t need to be good. Just lucky.

As sweeping changes to the federal Clean Water Act in recent years have weakened protections for wetlands, Illinois has become the first state in the nation to officially recognize a conservation tactic known as rewilding.
Illinois Rewilding Law, first in US, a step toward state wetland protection
Officials and environmentalists, pushing for state regulation of wetlands, say law will help close federal gaps after Trump rollbacks.

Jack Horner being the first named paleontologist in the files 100% tracks with what everyone in the field knows about him
Jack Horner being in the Epstein files is not something I had on my bingo card for 2026.... Horner seemingly visited Epstein's ranch multiple times, including apparently with a student.

I’m waiting to see the inclusion of the sex parties thrown by a very very prominent US natural history museum’s paleontologists. I only know because one year they invited the men from one of my state school Alma maters and I was encouraged to tag along
Academics vying for a spot in Epstein‘s world. There are so many. I feel the need to make a thread, so I don’t keep confusing them. 1/

I have always said it, I will continue to say it, we are limiting the productive potential of millions of freaks by demanding they earn a wage to survive instead of enabling them to do whatever thing their brain is broken for

This is one of those things that’s very exciting if you already know a cooler thing.

A lot of lizards and some extinct guys in our lineage have a “third eye,” a light sensing spot that connects to the pineal gland which makes our sleepy hormone.

Looks like this evolved from paired complex eyes!

Good grief, after so many years of waiting, and The Book of Dust trilogy was an unsatisfying hot mess. I think I’m actually put off of fiction right now 😅 so many random names to try and remember that meant absolutely nothing to the story

Maps have a long tradition of being used for propaganda. I think this is partly because maps are often seen as authoritative. Co-opting that trust can lend credibility to absurd notions.
But all maps are arguments. They all communicate values. They should all be challenged. Start with this one.
US Secretary of the Interior posts prevailing, still current view of US Administration. The propaganda imagery is getting tiring, and yet maps are still popular.
