First weekend in several weeks where I have zero commitments, zero family responsibilities, work has settled down a bit, and hopefully no medical drama. Think I’ll get hammered for two days and listen to my vinyl.

New - I understand angry MPs this afternoon spoke to Starmer at PLP committee to ask he sack whoever was briefing against Streeting or who authorised any attacks.
He refused to say he would sack anyone or that there would be consequences.

Whether or not this is true, dear god it's patronising.
Particularly given that nothing any mainstream British politician has come up with *this century* has 'added up' either. I'm not totally convinced by the Greens but look at the endless, compromised, self-perpetuating failure of the alternatives

I cannot imagine working full time at 85 like Pelosi. I’m 53, and would retire tomorrow if I could! Spend the rest of my days just bumbling around, having fun, and cheer. I’m part hobbit.

The transphobic messaging completely failed to help Republicans tonight. The anti-trans propaganda was a losing strategy which the GOP pushed all their chips in on, and it failed miserably. They lost every major race tonight.
