We all need 'glimmers' of hope on these grey wet days. This is a lovely one
It never got light.
It never stopped raining.
Yet, somehow, the bright yellow flowers and shiny green 'ruffs' of Winter Aconite shone bright and cut through the gloom.

My morning so far:

Crumble (ah-ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ah-ah)
Crumble (ah-ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ah-ah)

I was caught in the middle of a breakfast room (crumble)
I look 'round, and I knew there was no cereal pack (crumble)
My mind raced, and I thought what could I do (crumble)
And I knew …

OK. Interesting, good.
Now, with everything we have recently learnt about predatory men, can we all agree it's time to... BAN THE PERVERT GLASSES?

how can the pervert glasses NOT be bad for women? Are we relying on awful men just behaving nicely? for reals?

A plug for a great local company. If you want to send a hamper within the UK of great Yorkshire food, try Botham's* of Whitby.
Good value, lovely food, great service.

*No relation to the swing bowling Brexiter
Before Brexit, we often sent local food hampers as presents to family in the EU. Yorkshire Parkin, curd tarts, cheeses etc.
They made wonderful presents and showcased small local makers.
The insanity of Brexit continues....

👽Where the conspiracy theories have come from

And then we’ll look at the Telegraph article

Dear Liz,

thank you for your recent application to join us.

It is with regret that I have to inform you that we have found candidates who were marginally less terrible.

As an aside, there's a typo on the 3rd page of 'My Achievements'...the word 'lettuce' has two 't's

Yours,

Paddington is now the mythical figure who accompanies British celebrities into the afterlife.

As a nation, we obviously decided we didn’t want a symbol of tolerance for vulnerable immigrants, and found the lad another job.

End of a fun, boozy saturday with people who used to work for me. People who have flown, and i am now proud to call friends.

There is nothing. NOTHING. More satisfying as a leader than helping people fly.

It is my drug. When i die, let the gods stick me in a bar with the people i helped, forever.

Foisting a bluetooth tracker on a teenager and not even giving them a phone to control their location data or get the mapping benefits is creepy, sorry. And guess what, if it gets out of range of smartphones it won't even work, so it's a false security.

Making schools phone-free is 'near impossible'. Do parents even want it?
The House of Lords is soon due to debate whether to introduce a legal ban on smartphones in schools.

In a bizarre rewriting of history, it's popular among Trumpists to claim that only the US saw casualties in the US war in Afghanistan (2001-2021). Plenty of coalition casualties occurred and are well documented. We don't even talk about Afghani casualties at this point. Source: buff.ly/15EgPEW
