A massive scandal.

Kash Patel and Pam Bondi refusing to investigate the murders of American citizens to cover up Trump administration culpability.
NYT confirming MS NOW reporting:

Prosecutors began investigating Renee Good's killing, then Washington told them to stop.

Federal prosecutors had a warrant to collect evidence from Good's vehicle, but Trump leaders said to drop it. About a dozen prosecutors have since departed.

It’s going to be interesting to see politicians figure out that the main alignment of the Democratic party is no longer how far left one is, but how angry one is
Whatever. I don’t care who it is as long as they ruin the lives of the people in charge now.

Norms between adversaries are usually better maintained by mutual deterrence than by mutual forbearance.
on the balance i think partisan gerrymandering is bad but the only way it ends is if democrats weaponize it against republicans everywhere they can. wiping out republican lawmakers in blue states might bring the GOP to the table to end the practice.

Donald Trump is withholding billions of dollars in New York infrastructure unless he gets Penn Station and Dulles Airport named after him.

This is not only brazenly corrupt. It is sick, twisted and egomaniacal. The time is long overdue for sane Republicans to stand up to Trump.

So, first of all, of course it was Trump.

But even if they were telling the truth, "We give staffers who post videos of the Obamas as apes access to the agenda-setting, decree-sending, market-moving account of the president of the United States" is not the exculpatory statement they think it is.

Amazing.
The PRESIDENT.

Of these United States.

Has a personal vendetta.

Against a FIVE YEAR OLD.

Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast on himself: "He may not have ever read the Bible, but he will be a much stronger messenger for us"
February 5, 2026 at 3:16 PM
Telling people at a prayer breakfast not to pray before meals is . . . something, I guess.
Trump: "Mike Johnson is a very religious person. He does not hide it. He'll say to me sometimes at lunch, 'Sir, may we pray.' I'll say, 'Excuse me? We're having lunch.'"

He cannot be clearer. There is no difference to him between bombing random fishermen on boats and shooting Americans protesters in the face
I swear this clip is not edited. Trump pivots from downplaying the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti ("two people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity") to in the very next breath claiming "we've been very tough on the waters," leaving Tom Llamas baffled ("the waters?")

This is the key to understanding what is going on, imho
voters have incoherent beliefs and preferences about immigration. they, of course, literally voted for this. they also did not understand anything about it, so they actually hate it. and the hard part is getting them to think that the thing you are doing is the (nonsensical) thing they want.
Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed.

Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/
