Because of Russia, Ukraine is cold and dark, and not just for humans.
I can only imagine what it would feel like to lose the pups as I ran to a shelter or they bolted when a drone hit my home.

My first time visiting limestone quarries. Combined reserves of hundreds of millions of tons of limestone. Not all of it will be calcined, but for every two tons burned to make a ton of cement, a ton of CO2 will be released.
Domestic cement consumption is ~130 m tons, releasing ~260 m tons of CO2.
