So this Thursday started off with a huge missile attack throughout the entire country, my apartment hasn’t had electricity since 6 AM and I am just having my first cup of coffee of the day at 13:15. Still no power but I did carry my kid down ten flights of stairs to get coffee in a local cafe.

Power outages all over Kyiv so today’s workout was dragging a toddler up ten flights of stairs after our morning walk.

So the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has issued a statement saying it has ‘received specific information of a potential significant air attack on Nov 20’ and has closed for the day. I’m choosing to believe they’re just really hyped about Stalker 2 and are all staying home to play it.

The city of my youth, in rubbles. Cluster munition warhead. A postcard to all negotiators out there.
In Odesa, a high-rise building was struck by a missile, reportedly an Iskander-M with a cluster munition warhead. The attack killed 8 people and left several injured. One missile did not detonate and was found in a nearby educational building.

Well, Monday morning starts with schedules power outages in Kyiv because Russians have been attacking our power grid so viciously over the weekend. Here’s my schedule for today!

Oh wow, no shit.

I’m so goddamn tired after today’s massive country-wide missile attack and the sleepless night that went with it.

A detailed thread: QAnon was amplified by russia from nearly day one. Must-read if you're not already clear on that.

"Yesterday I found the right-wing russian (aligned or controlled) disinformation site, RumorMillNews, which is incredibly well archived in the Way Back Machine to 1999..."

If you came here expecting reasonable and measured commentary, you're in the wrong place. You're going to comical and bordering on irrational hatred for every authoritarian and dictator alive or in the ground but especially the Russian Federation or whatever costume it happens to be wearing

Greetings new arrivals. I'm Sam and for the most part I am but a humble shitposter.

I have a background in studying Nazi Germany, the late Russian Empire and the early USSR which I thought would be a neat party trick but then Timothy Snyder started appearing on MSNBC and now I hate everything

Seems like the US is rapidly going back into its measles outbreak-having, raw milk-chugging, witch-hunting, no-fluoride-in-water era of pilgrim realness. Bleak.
RFK Jr. was just nominated for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Alright, I’ve been told that you need to introduce yourself (re-introduce?) once you start getting followers on this platform and since I’ve already got a fair number of lovely people following me I guess I’ll remind you who I am and what I like to write about. I’m a food and culture writer from

Disappointed by the severe lack of thirsty tweets— sorry, posts about Nosferatu on this app. On the other hand, though, there also seem to be zero thirsty posts about the bald russian actor from Anora so I guess… you win some you loose some?

We're going to have a Christmas tree in downtown Kyiv again, yay!

Not as grandiose as what we had before 2022 and hopefully funded by volunteering businesses instead of city budget... but kids (and not only kids) need to feel the Christmas miracle even in the time of war.

The party that is obsessed with child sex offenders, & is close to a cult that claims child sex offenders run the government, just nominated a guy once investigated for allegedly sex-trafficking a 17 year old girl to be in charge of the country’s legal system.

Beyond parody.

I’m sorry, these people had the sheer audacity to call Ukraine a Reddit country and now they voted in a dude who filled his cabinet with edgelords and nazis and conspiracy theorists? I am going to personally harass everyone who ever dared make fun of the pro-Ukrainian memes and videos. Everyone.

As many Americans go to bed, this is what Ukraine is waking up to. Five people died in Mykolaiv in a drone attack; other residential areas were targeted. There are more drones and planes with ballistic missiles in the air now. This is not just a news story. Real Ukrainians are right here on bluesky.

Ayo so I guess I’m back here while I wait for Twitter to go down in flames? I’ll still be mostly posting over there because I do enjoy watching a horrifying shitshow unravel, though, but it is good to have a backup.

My two moods are, apparently, feeling rationally on edge when there’s an air raid alert over Kyiv, and feeling kinda irrationally on edge when there haven’t been any air raid alerts over Kyiv for a few days. Is this how my brain’s going to be from now on?

Being Ukrainian means going to see the new Paw Patrol movie with your kid and hearing a random child in the audience yell out ‘air raid alert! air raid alert!’ during the scene where meteors are falling down on Adventure City and the protagonists are trying to get everyone to take cover.
