Ope.
Dear @mattdoyle.bsky.social, Brian Anunga was supposedly let go by Nashville, in part, because he couldn’t go forward with the ball. He just got his first MLS assist last night with The FC. How did they fix him?

Replacing Lucho Acosta with Evander would be the most FC Cincinnati thing ever.

And I mean that in a good way.

Don’t get fancy. Pay for a proven, in-league commodity. Minimize the transition time for a new player. Just fill that No. 10 spot with a good player and go.
On Evander, Portland & FC Cincinnati, per sources:

🟢 Portland potential replacement: David da Costa of Lens

It feels weird to me that anyone actually thinks Lucho is going to play for The FC this year when he’s basically been saying the opposite to anyone that will listen since the last game of the season #AllForCincy #ThisIsMyCity

It's gotta be a dream to be a Cincy supporter. They paid their dues with three years of abject failure then...

Ownership built a cathedral and isn't gun shy AT ALL about spending on the squad. Chris Albright is full of banger signings. Pat Noonan is an elite manager.

Seems like fun!

BREAKING: @fccincinnati.com are formally requesting other clubs to stop doing stuff.

FCC sources say, 'Can we get a break, it was Albright's birthday yesterday'
🇨🇮🔵 BREAKING: Charlotte FC are nearing a deal to sign forward Wilfried Zaha on loan from Galatasaray, per sources. Very close.

Zaha, 32, on loan at Lyon but will be recalled so he can go to Charlotte if/when it gets done.

River Plate is going to pay $10m for Driussi...which got me thinking, does Boca Juniors hate Lucho Acosta? The answer is, yes. And here's the facts to support this...

Per Daniel Nohra, Kevin Kelsy is headed to the Portland Timbers. $6 million transfer fee, 3rd highest in Timbers history.

BREAKING: Another midfielder, not named Lucho Acosta, goes to Boca Juniors.

Sources are saying Lucho is very sad and blames Albright for giving him a contract that was too long and paid him too much.
January 14, 2025 at 3:34 PM
I’m reading this as, Boca Juniors has a ton of money and STILL won’t take Lucho.
Boca Juniors has sold something like $100m worth of talent the past two years, if you're wondering how they're suddenly flush enough to spend eight figures on a guy who's been pretty meh in MLS.
🔵🟡 Sources: Boca Juniors are finalizing the deal to sign attacker Alan Velasco from FC Dallas.

💰 Deal is $10m + $2m in add-ons. FCD retains a 15% sell-on clause.

🔴 Dallas planned around Velasco for 2025, but deal too good for player and club. FCD will look to add DP No. 10.

Being a Cincinnati Sports fan isn’t fun. It’s something you’re born into and must suffer through. It’s what makes this region better than wherever the hell you’re from, because we drown in disappointment and come back for more.

This is the most exciting sports thing that happened last night
From the desk of Joseph Meme:

Per sources, FC Cincinnati are interested in signing midfielder Tah Brian Anunga.

Anunga (28) has been under contract with Nashville SC since 2020. His option was declined in December and he is a free agent.

This is a backhanded FCC post and I won’t stand for it, Jeff
The global transfer market has been weirdly benevolent about getting MLS teams out of bad contracts as of late.
🇲🇽🔴⚪️ Sources: Chivas have completed the deal to sign Mexican forward Alan Pulido from Sporting KC.
@clmerlo.bsky.social 1st.

Pulido, 33, is SKC's club-record signing. Scored 38 goals in 108 apps across all comps during his time at the club.

Deal will open a DP spot for SKC.

🇦🇷 Sources: Boca Juniors have made a bid to sign Alan Velasco from FC Dallas for around $10 million. German Garcia and @clmerlo.bsky.social 1st.

If Rodolfo Borrell can convince someone to pay $9M for Driussi on his current form then he needs to be sent to Gaza to broker peace.

He'd have names you wouldn't believe signing an accord in a week.
🚨 DRIUSSI ON THE MOVE? 🚨

According to Pablo Noya, River Plate has agreed to terms with Sebastián Driussi, who has reportedly accepted a pay cut to make the move happen. Pablo Noya states that River Plate has offered $9M for Driussi, with the deal currently pending approval from Austin FC.

I was weirdly excited to see this. Great example of national media showing an unbiased take and fan run media, rightly, being mad when their best players are moved.
But a great opportunity for the player. First Yank at St Pauli since Leon Flach, and a lineage that dates back to Paul Caligiuri
