It's 25th anniversary of the 1st offshore wind turbine in the UK this week

Offshore wind now provides over 1/6 of UK power

Success was not inevitable, and it continues to be a battle against the fossil fuel industries

Greenpeace UK has been part of the fight

Goldfinch defend their possession of our #Abergavenny bird feeder with some enthusiasm. Coal and Blue Tits may try to sneak in but are often spotted before alighting and forced to retreat. Other Goldfinch are also seen off if not in the right gang it seems #nature #wildlife #birderswales #wales

The answer? Vote GREEN!
Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #PlanningBill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

I’ve seen more Coal Tits in our #Abergavenny garden over the last few weeks than I’ve ever seen before. In the past we’ve had two of three at time but recently it’s been five or six, perhaps more - it’s hard to keep count, they are so quick to and from the feeders #birdersWales #nature #wildlife

A historic turning point for clean heating in Europe: For the first time, in the first half of 2025 sales of heat pumps in Germany have surpassed those of gas boilers.

This is a big milestone, demonstrating that the transition away from fossil fuels in our buildings is not just a future ambition.

Reprehensible and completely inconsistent

Whether climate testimony is heard, and therefore if there is a good chance of acquittal, is entirely dependent on which judge you get

More variety at our #Abergavenny garden bird feeders today. Great to see the return of goldfinches bringing their bright colours back. Blue tits know that it’s time to make a hasty retreat when goldfinch turn up - they’ll want the feeders all to themselves. #nature #wildlife #birdrrswales #Waless
