Reading is political and read diversely
Pinned
I just got a massive follow spike overnight, so hello everyone! I'm Elizabeth Fox, I mostly go by Fox (bcz there's a lot of Elizabeth-s out there) and I post book reviews on several platforms and I occasionally make recipes based on books I read!

Read diversely. It's political.
(More in replies)
Just wanted to say that I'm still here, just drowning in life's responsibilities 🥲

I talked a bit about this on Threads too but it needs to be talked about

There's a privilege in being able to physically be with the one you love, and way too many people take it for granted. And that is why it's so important to fight for the right to love whoever and wherever
Flying back from Visiting my Fianceé gets harder every time. bloody hell. Like she said there's people on tv getting married at first site for the hell of it but we have to fight tooth and nail for one of us to have a life in the others country. I feel ill now.

I love @onelinedfox.bsky.social 😭😭❤️❤️

Ive low-key been thinking of doing book videos where I use a 3D model as a stand in for myself (not a VTuber but like reaction pics) for the days I just can't be on camera

Dangerously, I've also discovered that small presses have book clubs!

@haymarketbooks.org has a $10 monthly subscription for every new Haymarket title released *and* 50% off all other titles.

I got "Can't Pay Won't Pay" from @debtcollective.bsky.social for free today, and a couple others 🥳

Heyyy I did a thing! Some of my mutuals from that clock app, some of my favorite authors, and some amazing readers that I’ve connected with on here.

This is the first time in about 2 years that I've coloured my eyebrows and now I remember why I didn't-
I have to function for 30 min without my glasses 🥲

I felt like doom scrolling TikTok a bit this morning and here's my thoughts:

Content on TT is generally more my preference, comments are worse

IG is all over the place but is nice for discovering new stuff

TT gave me some inspiration/energy to make long form content again

To those unfollowing since I began my book spotlight series for Black History Month…✌️

I’m not sure who you THOUGHT you were following, but on this account we uplift and celebrate marginalized voices, including books written by black authors. (and that’s all year ‘round folks).

Anyone doubting that the puritanical wave has already stated in online book communities.

Heads up fellow Aro/Ace folks who complain about having sex and romance in media, these people are not our allies.

This is thinly veiled Christofascist CompHet.

Substack is going to be where I get personal and messy and share more of my life, more separated from my work. We’re gonna talk books, sure. But we’ll also talk politics, life, deconstruction, chronic pain, spirituality, race and whatever else I want to shout about. Follow along or don’t. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Solidarity is not transactional.

If you're supporting someone's human rights only out of the expectation they'll do the same, you don't understand solidarity.

Everyone deserves human rights. Everyone, everywhere.

And no one is free until we all have them.

Something I’ve realized about making content on social media especially book content, is that you’re never going to please everyone, that you just put what you can out there and people are either going to love it or hate but you can’t take their opinion personally
