Neurodivergent, chronically ill theologian finding her voice. Reclaiming "Christian" as one who loves all unconditionally and rebels against injustice. Preaching peacebuilding as a spiritual practice to enact transformative justice. Blunt when unmasked.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!

I must confess I did not even edit this.
From the ashes, a fire.
The dust is dabbed on our foreheads and we are told to shout out, to show the world their sin. This Lenten season, prepare yourself to not let your fire burn out.

Medicaid is not for sale.
NASA is not for sale.
The Post Office is not for sale.
America is not for sale.

We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

There's a lot of scorn for poor Wikipedia but it's a damn savior when you're trying to get your thoughts in order to actually write your 20 page article within the next 72 hours and you have exactly 3 sentences on the Google doc

I should also note that I love many @commonnotions.bsky.social titles and they have a sustainer program that gets you free books . . . But alas their digital library is rather small. Crossing fingers they expand it for those of us unable to get print books.

I'd love "In Defense of Common Life"!

Perhaps surprisingly, none of those posts were sponsored.

It's just that this radical reader has had an amazingly fantastic day of getting book deals and finding hope through other people's words ✌🏻

Bookshop has its own app for reading, but what to do about other books? I mean, Kindle is soooo easy.

I use Readwise Reader -- just drag and drop the epub files and then my highlights are saved and easily accessible for my research.

What do y'all do to avoid Amazon? How do you read your ebooks?

Because I live in Montenegro, I'm limited to ebooks, which some publishers don't offer directly @broadleafbooks.bsky.social cough>

Fortunately @bookshop-org.bsky.social has started distributing ebooks . . . slowly but surely. Same prices as the publisher, often less than Amazon!

Spent the last two days frantically creating a syllabus for my independent study course, Creation Care as Community Resistance.

Found about ten recent books relating to ecotheology and/or creating sustainable communities, then realized... Why am I planning to buy these on Amazon?

Alternatives...

I sigh with utter surprise 🙃
The ELCA had the chance to join a multifaith lawsuit defending congregations’ 1st Amendment rights agnst the Trump administration. In an act of capitulation, they caved with the flimsy excuse of having no legal standing. This is what’s known as “obeying in advance.” www.patheos.com/blogs/ecopre...
ELCA Is Obeying In Advance In Its Capitulation To Trump
The ELCA is obeying in advance by refusing to join a multifaith lawsuit defending churches against Trump’s violation of 1st Amendment rights.

Your burning heart
The world is on fire and we, as Christians, are called to respond. But putting out the flames seems utterly overwhelming. Where to even start?

If I am a theologian finding her voice, reclaiming the word "Christian" as a badge of honor for those who love all unconditionally, rebel against injustice, seek to repair harms, and try to help all of creation thrive . . .

Well, I better get started.

Perhaps things like "just lifting my nose from my research to consider why, when ethnic conflicts in the former Yugoslavia are mentioned, it's always "Bosnia" that gets brought up?"

Do I trust academic articles on peacebuilding that consider Bosnia the only region that experienced violent conflict?
