@gracefullypunk.bsky.social
Neurodivergent, chronically ill theologian finding her voice. Reclaiming "Christian" as one who loves all unconditionally and rebels against injustice. Preaching peacebuilding as a spiritual practice to enact transformative justice. Blunt when unmasked.
I should also note that I love many @commonnotions.bsky.social titles and they have a sustainer program that gets you free books . . . But alas their digital library is rather small. Crossing fingers they expand it for those of us unable to get print books.

I'd love "In Defense of Common Life"!

Bookshop has its own app for reading, but what to do about other books? I mean, Kindle is soooo easy.

I use Readwise Reader -- just drag and drop the epub files and then my highlights are saved and easily accessible for my research.

What do y'all do to avoid Amazon? How do you read your ebooks?

Then there's @versobooks.bsky.social, which completely *filled* my virtual library because they send each book they publish each month when you sign up for a $10 ebook subscription.

Dangerously, I've also discovered that small presses have book clubs!

@haymarketbooks.org has a $10 monthly subscription for every new Haymarket title released *and* 50% off all other titles.

I got "Can't Pay Won't Pay" from @debtcollective.bsky.social for free today, and a couple others 🥳

I've also loved @plutopress.bsky.social for quite some time (maybe because they approached me to propose a book once, but I hadn't been radicalized enough by then 😉)

They often have excellent deals, like 40% off for Black History Month.

I'm waiting for this to go on sale!

First, check the publisher. It's likely the same price or cheaper. You'll support independent, or nonprofit, or cooperative ventures.

@milkweededitions.bsky.social is an excellent example. I found a collection of essays connecting relating to the earth to building community.
