there are three countries which provide models for what the eventual independent Palestinian state will probably look like:
Iran and Yemen (geographically close allies)
North Korea (another consistent ally with a state that formed in extremely similar circumstances)

there's an argument that the US was not a right-wing dictatorship for the few days between the end of the Civil War and Lincoln's assassination. I don't think it's a particularly strong argument. I also think that's the only point in US history for which that argument could be made.
