We’re out here every day. Watching over our streets. Making sure our kids get to school safely. Delivering groceries to our neighbors. We’re doing everything we can to protect one another.

But it’s not enough. On Friday Jan 23, we shut MN down. No work. No school. No shopping. ICE out of MN now.

Call Tim twice a day and call your reps to exert pressure. Walz is not going to do this until he has no other choice but we NEED an eviction moratorium

Just a reminder that the protest happened because the Cities Church has an ICE officer for a pastor.

Also that ICE can and will make arrests at churches. So really, they're fair game now.

Is it @startribune.com policy to refer to anyone confronting ICE as a protester? This obscures the nature of what people are doing. We're not protesting ICE. We're constitutional observers documenting human rights abuses by agents of the state.

Hey man, are any fucking national Democrats going to do something about the fact that the federal government has declared war against MN?

“The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is investigating Minneapolis housing policies to see whether the city discriminates against white people.”
The latest: JD Vance to meet with ICE agents this week in Minnesota as federal immigration surge continues
The vice president is scheduled to visit Minnesota on Thursday amid tensions in the state over the Trump administration’s enforcement push.

The story going around signal channels is unreal. ICE are f*cking creeps. Impersonating people to try to figure out child transportation plans. Depraved shit
From a highly reliable friend:
ICE may be dressing in plain clothes to get access to students at schools, and get information about how the resistance is organizing. Be careful who you talk to. Don't engage with strangers with many questions. Vet folks you let into your organizing circles.

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that so called fundamentalists apparently do not love the Jesus flipping tables part of the Bible, but it has genuinely always been my favorite. Sorry weirdos, Jesus was not afraid of a ruckus and he loved migrants.

Another sharp reminder today as a very kind @cedrickfrazier.bsky.social volunteer called about precinct caucuses - it still seems crazy to think about caucusing, but we all see why its important to get a solid Hennepin County Attorney like Frazier, *especially** in these times right???
I know it feels insane to talk about caucusing right now, but think about who we’re seeing out there - we need more Elliott Paynes, more Doron Clarks, more Brad Tabkes, more Zaynab Mohameds, more Ilhan Omars. We **cannot afford** to have more Angie Craigs voting to hurt us. I’m signed up for Jan 20
Additionally: if you are worried about attending caucuses for whatever reason, PLEASE fill out and file the non-attendee form. dfl.org/wp-content/u...

You can submit the resolution form with your non-attendee form: www.abetterdfl.org/resolution

This was honestly one of the worst corporate MLK day messages I’ve ever seen. It made me want to scream cry and throw up. But instead I will continue to do what I can to help my neighbors and send an internet hug to every sane MN who screams at ICE.
Not just peaceful but also polite! Our CEO sent out an MLK day email saying “people are screaming in stranger’s faces again” because obvs it’s the screaming that’s the problem, and there’s no difference between screaming at a 6-year-old Black girl going to school and a nazi abducting your neighbor

I made the mistake of talking to a non-online friend about the 3-day Simon debacle yesterday. She almost cried thinking about the hours patrolling, how hard she’s working to make get formula and diapers to those who need it, plus the constant fear - and then 60k for the state DFL to do what????

Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped from Minneapolis. He was my neighbor and he died in an American concentration camp. He was not "illegal," he was a human being made in the image of the divine. May his memory be a blessing, and may the rest of us fight like hell until we stop this brutality.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

Instead of giving your money to Simon Rosenberg's vague plea to fund the DFL for vague reasons, please give to shelter our unsheltered Indigenous relatives TODAY during this very cold cold snap.
Our community is in peril. Our neighbors need our help in this time of ICE presence and subzero temperatures.

Mpls has a shortage of available shelter for residents, and our city govt has not developed adequate resources to humanely house people.

Please support MIWRC in this time of emergency.
