I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here

To put it more bluntly: Everything people were afraid the National Guard would do is what ICE and other federal agencies are doing right now
I do think national media need to be focusing more on what ICE is doing, especially in Chicago, where people are being dragged from their beds. I'm not downplaying the National Guard deployments, but ICE is actively terrorizing communities. That's the spear tip of fascism right now.

The right: We must condemn all political violence!

Also the right: Indiscriminately murdering people we suspect are undocumented immigrants is just fine.
A mainstream outlet finally does more than repeat the official BS statement from ICE about the shooting of Silvero Villegas-Gonzalez. This man's death should be a national scandal. Grateful for indy journalists who questioned the official narrative that corporate outlets mindlessly echoed last week.
Undocumented father killed by ICE agent in Franklin Park shooting had no criminal background, lawyer says
The undocumented father shot and killed by an ICE agent in Franklin Park, Illinois, only had a history of minor traffic violations, not a criminal record, according to his attorney.

Great interview with @remorahousedc.bsky.social here:

"While people are exhausted + scared, DC residents have shown up in force to defend each other. Evictions were stopped by local advocates...People all over the city are sharing photos...+ calling into ICE watch hotlines to keep each other safe.
Here's my weekly must-reads list, a frontline dispatch from a D.C. organizer, and my final thoughts for the week. One thing I took away from my exchange with Shannon Clark, a mutual aid organizer in D.C., is that "having great networks already in place" has been crucial. Let's all take note.
