The problem is, we don't see what exposure to ideas does to us. The human brain is a machine for rationalising the irrational. It will tell you you're the same person you were a year ago no matter what you've been through. We all think - every single one of us - that we can't be manipulated.
The "follow" button confounds "I'm looking at your content" and "I endorse this content." We need two different ways to signal the difference between the two.

I know it doesn't seem to matter to anyone making these bullshit laws, but for the record, there is still no evidence of any kind that allowing trans people to enter and use the "single sex spaces" appropriate for their actual gender has ever caused a single other law to be broken.

If you have never read Novels In Three Lines by Félix Fénéon (brilliantly translated by Luc Sante), you should. It's a collection of 1000+ ultra-minimal News In Brief items Fénéon wrote for the newspaper Le Matin in 1906, boiling down news items to their essence and adding wry commentary.
