I have this, I love it. A slender, beautiful volume holding a stunning poetic journey. I keep going back and back to it. Local #Sheffield poet @petegreensolo.com whose writing flows with truth (and deserves to be known everywhere). Wonderful.

But then all the Longbarrow books are gorgeous...
Nothing is quite absolute and whether

Two questions I will die with:
Did you call any place home?
If not, what drew you on:
the seasons’ slow turning
or that faint itch of the horizon?

Never understood why people carriers are called people carriers, as if cars with fewer than seven seats can only be used for carrying gerbils or apricots

I’ve really enjoyed Hemisphere, by @petegreensolo.com (published by @longbarrowpress.bsky.social ) - it’s a set of prose poems describing imaginary travels, but in the process ruminating on all kinds of things. Moving, in more than one sense!

Just heard a BBC radio bulletin covering the Caerphilly by-election. It featured one audio clip from a party spokesperson.

Can you guess which of these parties that person was from?

a) The party that won
b) The governing party, which lost
c) A far-right party which also lost

There might be a context in which 'utilise' is a better and more appropriate choice of word than 'use', but in several decades of living on Earth and communicating in the English language I am yet to discover one.

London friends, here is my annual recommendation to visit the Small Publishers Fair @smallpublishers.bsky.social 💖👇
Some recent attempts to transport the @longbarrowpress.bsky.social inventory to book fairs via public transport. You can help to make the return journey more comfortable by visiting our stall at @smallpublishers.bsky.social, Conway Hall, London, this Friday & Saturday (11am-7pm, admission free).

Yes, I can see how confronting the transphobia that was the actual cause of Brianna's murder would be just a little inconvenient for this Labour Party
Meeting yesterday with Brianna Ghey's mother Esther - and pupils at Brianna's former school - was a powerful reminder of why controls on social media and smartphone use in schools is so important for children, teachers and parents. (1/2)

So. Much. This
Limiting working-class hearts and brains to vocational jobs is a way of stopping us getting above our station. We need to know our place, not imagine a world that is bigger and better.

Every time I've ever been to Leeds it's felt like the entire city centre has been drunk, and this was no exception. I remember once seeing a fire engine approach and thinking "Well, at least THEY aren't drunk" and a whole HEN DO leaning out of the windows as it went by.

Once the AI bubble has burst and it can be bought cheaply, nationalise the whole thing and the profits can fund UBI directly. Bingo, you cut out the middleman. Or middlebro.
I woke up with this slogan running through my head:

NO AI
WITHOUT UBI

Of course there are a ton of other problems with AI beyond losing jobs, but it would be a good starting place.

Yes, there are other times when I just need a Hula Hoop sandwich
