Hello. Come in. Cup of tea? Sorry about the blood on the handle. I draw, I paint, I am autistic, I drink Yorkshire Tea. Is that everything? I think that's everything.

Happy new year everyone! I hope you all get a 2026 that fits you perfectly x

Seemed a wiser option than the Hootenanny or Ronan. Over to BBC1 at a minute to 12, and then back to the good stuff

I'm now on medication that requires me not to drink alcohol and for that reason I will be unable to watch Ronan Keating in the run-up to midnight.

Just some of those we lost in 2025. The gaps are there for us to remember those close to us. Wishing us all a better 2026. x

Ages since I read a new superhero book and I appear to have picked a good one to start again with. This is magnificent stuff - the best of DC's books are wildly creative in a way the films just never are.

On a train, Ian McKellen once stepped to one side and gestured that I could get past, and I felt oddly like I was setting off on a quest.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Listening to this and trying not to remember I'm back at work in the morning. Only for a day and a half, mind. But still: rubbish.

59 yrs ago today, you could watch The Beatles arrive at EMI Studios, all moustached, and give absolutely no hint to a reporter about the extraordinary, unfinished song (Strawberry Fields) on the other side of those walls.
(Then, a bit later, you could watch Jonathan Miller's Alice in Wonderland.)

I don't think my origin story is any book (but it is based on one): it's the Piper At The Gates Of Dawn episode of The Wind In The Willows. I was four when I saw that, and its strange, haunted, melancholy atmosphere (and the fact my bedroom overlooked a graveyard) left a huge impression on me.
Back home, and found my Christmas present from when i was about 10:

The Cambridge Encyclopedia.

It will surprise none of my followers to learn this book is my origin story.
