Hello. Come in. Cup of tea? Sorry about the blood on the handle. I draw, I paint, I am autistic, I drink Yorkshire Tea. Is that everything? I think that's everything.

Found this photo last night, of an evening last century. I don't remember it being taken and I don't know who took it, but I'm glad they did. This is me and my brother and I think it's one of the occasions I allowed his innocent eyes to glance at a Viz annual (probably Billy the Fish).

Rubber Soul is 60 today! The more time passes the more I think my favourite song here is George's If I Needed Someone. "Carve your number on my wall / and maybe you will get a call from me" is a great, strange line.

Next: A Warning to the Curious. Peter Vaughan digs up old treasure and seals his fate. Clive Swift also turns up from the previous film, and it's kind of a shame this didn't lead to a series where his Dr Black investigates the supernatural

The White Reindeer!
To the best of my knowledge, the only 1950s Finnish sort-of-vampire-but-with-reindeer film

The Stalls of Barchester, in which we dart back and forth between Robert Hardy assuming the position of archdeacon by terrible means and, 100 years later, Clive Swift piecing the story together. It's all bathed in an almost sepia, warm glow - feels comforting even though the story is anything but.

Whoever's in charge of mugs at UNIT has the same supplier.

Starting with... Whistle and I'll Come to You. Yes, yes, it's not really one of the Christmas series, just the film that inspired them, but - it's on the box set, I first saw it one Christmas, so... it counts. Plus: Michael Hordern's superb in it, why wouldn't you watch it?

A new picture, that's more of a sentence really. Anyway:

Got home after a rubbish journey (delayed train, cancelled bus) to find this in the living room. A fabulous thing to arrive home to.

Bjork is still in her human phase in this TOTP; it feels like she's almost finished her metamorphosis into something else entirely 30 years later

This is, if you're interested, and you might be, unless something comes along in December, but it won't, my Album Of The Year. Planet Ping Pong by Le Volume Courbe.

I won't bore you with the details, *but* there is a Batman story where Bruce Wayne ends up back in the stone-age and I now wish he was writing your suggestion on the cave wall!

Two reworked old paintings, or possibly a diptych.

#nowplaying The White Album. Does anyone ever call it 'The Beatles'? Everyone rallied against such a dull name from day 1.
Anyway, this is the 30th anniversary CD, which I'll still take over any remastered / remixed version.

Not altogether fussed about the Dr Who spin-off 'The War Between the Land and Sea', *but* the title keeps reminding me of this, so I watched it again this morning. A film made up of hundreds of clips from the BFI archives which is lovely, moving and pleasingly haunting.

Happy 62nd birthday Doctor Who! As tradition dictates, or dictates to me at any rate, I'll be watching the first episode of this at around 5:15pm. And then later, Remembrance of the Daleks (just because it's ages since I've seen it and I feel like it).

Bjork is, she'll be delighted to know, the only music artist who I own every studio album by on cassette. But, come on, *look* at them.

Happy 60th birthday, Bjork. Still the best at getting dressed.
