New York City has a new mayor

On December 14th, I sat across from 142 New Yorkers as they shared their concerns, their dreams, the leadership they long for from City Hall. Our campaign was built around listening to the people of New York, and we will govern in the same way. Tomorrow, we get to work.

This is a great comp. It has the stylistic diversity of what I remember about, like mp3 comps on netlabels in 2003. Some classic orthodox Rephlex-style braindance, lotta out there intense Mark Fell-type stuff, some tongue-in-cheek stuff, it's great.
There's a piece of mine on this Evel records 2025 retrospective comp along with @calumgunn.com @williamfields.com nnirror, global goon, lime68k and many more.

I'm really interested in the Kibei experience in post-war Japan and the Ryukyus. If anybody has any readings or oral histories to share, I'd be interested!

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

Here are 10 of my favorite records released on #Bandcamp in 2025! I don't want to rank them, so they're sorted chronologically by release date. All of these got CONSTANT rotation in my listening habits this year.

A bit more on each in the thread!

Putting the fact that this is and always has been an empty threat aside, the objective framing of this “story” is that the ultrawealthy are crying at the *difficult prospect* that the most successful and unchallenged campaign of class warfare in human history may begin to start getting reformed.
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

The “Radiology Report” cycle from this record gets into some interesting, new, exploratory territory from Ureterocele that I am really enjoying. I also just love the disconnect between how evil and dissonant his music is with what a nice wholesome dude he comes off as.
From now until 12:00 p.m. JST on December 26, you can stream the entire new album, Tube With Contrast Medium, along with my previous album, Left Renal Agenesis, on Bandcamp. It’s a small thing, but I hope it can be a little holiday gift for you. Happy holidays, with music in your day!

Leaving the sub-1K followers domain is liberating in a way that I hadn’t anticipated: the number will only update in hundreds now, going from 1K to 1.1K.

I feel liberated of one less source of drip-feed compulsive checking.

I picked out a new journal format for 2026 where I simply give myself a full page per day to put as much or as little as I am able to without worrying about cramming it down to fit or of going overlong and running out of space. Interested to see if it makes it easier to do every day no matter what.

I strongly believe that one of the most effective ways we can begin to heal the sick soul of our nation is for progressive Christianity to regain visibility in the mainstream. Its total capture by the evangelical right is a tragedy. America needs more Jimmy Carters as a cultural counterweight.
James Talarico: The Bible doesn't mention abortion or gay marriage, but it goes on and on about forgiving debt, liberating the poor, and healing the sick. The closest thing we have to the kingdom of heaven is a multiracial, multicultural democracy where power is truly shared among all people

RIP Ken Downie, founding and foundational member of The Black Dog. He was putting out bedroom listening techno bangers until the very end. 💔
It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ken Downie on 20/12/25. Rest In Peace brother, you will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Our condolences to Sheena and his family.
