This is a perfect dog performance. Chase the dolly cam, stop when the operator understands what he’s doing and stops, then go after the skiers when they pass him by, then sniff everyone’s butts after they’ve passed the finish line. A+. No notes. Good job Nazgûl.

So my unexpected take of the month is actually that Doom: The Dark Ages is the best of the 3 games in the "reboot series." In retrospect, I really respect that each of these games tries different bold new directions, even if I hated & did not finish Eternal. Each one is a well-considered game loop.

I finally began the process of updating my mobo & CPU, a task at the bottom of my upgrade priorities for a reason. But, fucking Microsoft forced me to do it, so I splurged and it begins. This is the 4th version of a computer I 1st built in 2016. M.2, 4070, 11th gen i9, SSD, 64GB DDR4, pretty decent.

Have been meaning to break the seal on watching some Tarkovsky for a while. My uncultured American Millennial brain was so pacified by the totally unhurried, sometimes almost completely silent shots that last for minutes. It's like modest budget mid-century Soviet Interstellar. Fascinating film.
Last night, I watched Tartovsky’s Solaris. I was interested in how the film compared to the book (obviously a compelling interpretation), but didn’t expect to see all these gorgeous knit and crochet pieces. All undoubtedly handmade.

I hit 100,000 miles on my car today! I drove it off the lot in August 2015 with only 6 on it. This is only my 2nd car after a ‘96 Camry formal rental that I got from my grandpa in 2005. I’m proud to have taken care of this thing long enough to hit this milestone. Hoping I can get to another decade.

I realize that so many people in the music industry die every year that they can’t put them all on during the Grammy telecast, but I felt like they could have given 10-15 seconds to honor Dave Ball, Perry Bamonte, Mike Peters, and Mani during the show. Ah well - we still remember.
