They aren't sure whether to believe OPEC or other leading forecasters because they DON'T do their own analysis. They believe what the people selling the products tell them. So if Shell says LNG will grow by 60%, apparently they believe them.

Explains a lot.

The US LNG export market is about to add a huge amount of new supply over the next 5 years. Pretty much everyone agrees there is too much.

A lot of this LNG is under contract to traders who plan to buy it and resell it for profits. Despite not having end users lined up.

100% agree with this. Some editors are very light. Others are not. There isn't always much space to push back on editorial changes, particularly as a freelancer, and the final product is their choice not mine, despite the fact that it's my byline out there taking responsibility for it.
When you think about it, concealing the editors misrepresents (not in every case, but in a lot of if not most cases) who in fact is responsible for the story. And it puts the writer — most often lower down on the editorial totem pole — in the line of fire for something an editor is responsible for.

US natural gas (methane) price are up 50% in the past month or so as new export facilities start exporting more LNG (methane). Often these US export facilities are owned by foreign entities (Japan, Qatar, etc).Japan is also buying up gas production assets in TX to supply the gas for export. (1/2)

It might be true that the world needs to remove ten billion tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere every year but it’s never going to happen for many different reasons: technical, financial, social, environmental, governance, etc. If we don’t reduce CO₂ emissions, we’re screwed. That’s it.

Oil and gas companies are suing each other of LNG contracts.
