Horrific thread. I said it at the time and I think it's looking truer now than ever before: A vote for Brexit would only make us more insular, bigoted and racist as a country.
I don't personally have any interest in the police recording incidents that are not crimes.
What is essential is that the police + the government get much better at policing actual racist hate crimes, because the culture of impunity for online racial hatred is having corrosive offline impacts too

Israel just targeted and killed an entire news crew. This is not "just what happens" to reporters in war. Israel has killed more journalists in the 22 months since October 7 '23 than were killed WORLDWIDE in the 3 years between '20 and '22.
