"It’s so important to have a free press, and it’s nuts we aren’t paying more attention to it."
We @pressfreedom.bsky.social agree. Thank you Jimmy Kimmel.
KIMMEL: “He’s gunning for our journalists too — they want to pick and choose what the news is… it’s so important to have a free press, and it’s nuts we aren’t paying more attention to it.”

It’s literally the job of columnists to have opinions. Sacking them for expressing their views not only chills the individual’s speech but free speech in general.

The prevention of international access, the killings of journalists, the targeting of media facilities, the punishment of outlets like Haaretz are part of a deliberate strategy to conceal what is happening in Gaza.

If we do not act now, there will be no one left in Gaza to tell anyone’s story.

“In times of real crisis, people turn to those reliable local news providers for information, including life-saving information,” CPJ’s CEO @jodieginsberg.bsky.social told Charles Sennott.

The number and size of lawsuits being issued against the media by the President is unprecedented and a clear attempt to undermine free speech protections ingrained in the Constitution. Press freedom is crucial for the public's right to know - and it's being strangled.
