Back at it for 2025. I’m a NYC based journalist and illustrator. I just finished #inktober, a 31 drawings in 31 days challenge I do every year. Pen and paper. Here’s how it came out, days 1-4:
This sums up the last 10 years
Trump on Air Traffic Controllers: The one’s that stayed, I'm sending them a $10,000 bonus.

Ingraham: Where is that money coming from?

Trump: I don't know.

New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

Can’t stop thinking about the NYTimes’s “we don’t do endorsements anymore but don’t vote for Mamdani” pre-primary write-up. Big journalism spent the past 10 years trying to find real America, and willfully tried to suppress what was taking place in its own backyard.

So many people were detained extrajudicially, were tortured, or died because of Dick Cheney. You can't get to the danger we're in now without everything he did. The weapons he helped forge are ones we need to take away from U.S. presidents forever.

Dick Cheney’s legacy is: he and his coconspirators took advantage of the collective fear and grief post-9/11 to lie their way into a vanity oil war that got a million people killed.

Wow, haven't seen a "racially charged" in a while.
“.. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Even the conservatives [at the party] were in shock. People avoided them,” a person who attended the party said.

If this were a 30 minute sitcom, the judge would say this and then the camera would immediately cut to a new scene where Bovino is throwing like five tear gas canisters right into a trick-or-treater’s candy bag.
Ellis says that, given her chat with Bovino today, "I don't know that we're going to see a whole lot of tear gas being deployed over the next week."

Josh Hawley talks in biblical terms about America’s duty to feed the hungry, but can’t resist floating the caveat that, actually, undocumented people don’t deserve to eat. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/28/o...

Listen: I'm guest hosting for Mary Harris today on @slate.com's daily news pod, What Next. I talked with @jaywillis.net about the NBA indictments, gambling on everything, and why it feels like we're all living in Biff's nightmare world from Back to the Future Part II.

We need new language to write about politics. Calling a disgraced former governor and a failed corrupt one-term mayor “moderate” comes off as lazy. Whatever your understanding of politics, these guys do not represent the ideological middle ground. Gift link.

Trump: me and my rich friends are paying for the unapproved $300 million White House demolition.

Also Trump: I demand the federal government give me, the president, $230 million.
Good: Jamie Raskin tells me he's formally demanding any/all internal communications between WH and DOJ on Trump's $230 million payoff.

More Dems should talk this way about Trump's criming. He's turning the presidency into a massive Bribe Delivery System.
