Including @durbin.senate.gov, the Democratic whip!
@schumer.senate.gov — Everyone said, hold the line on the Govt funding for the subsidies, and you whipped 8 Dem votes from reps who weren’t up for reelection anyway—

The failure is yours - we need new leadership

A weirdly on point microcosm of MAGA’s whole toxic nostalgia trip. All those things always sucked. You thought they were good because you were twelve. Rinse & repeat.

The Atlantic speaks with one of the jurors in the case of the man who threw a Subway sandwich at a federal agent.

The juror says that, despite two initial holdouts, it was ultimately pretty easy to acquit: "a clear majority felt it was nonsensical, like, don't waste our time or money."

Clown-ass comment. A shutdown during a republican majority is a waste of their opportunity to legislate. Let them waste it.

It's not like passing a budget or authorizing spending matters to the executive branch anyway. They're spending and withholding whatever they want.

It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Listen to the response to this and look how easy it is to say it.
We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

As a civilian, you have to comply with ICE thugs immediately or get "pain compliance".

As ICE, you can do what you want and maybe a few weeks later a judge will say you can't, then maybe some time later you actually have to stop.

I actually gasped. As a former public health reporter the MMWR is a big deal
The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

They almost got me with this one, but they're talking about machine learning. "AI" is now a marketing term for LLMs, which still have no big obvious wins under their belt.
