Pushing aside the fact that some Americans have it harder than others is not necessary in order to have discussions on issues that affect everyone.

In fact, there is no conversation about the concerns of ”everyday Americans” if we can’t also have a conversation about identity.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25
Pete Buttigieg critiques Democrats for focus on identity
The former U.S. transportation secretary said the Democratic Party should focus more on issues gripping the country, such as health care and housing affordability.

They’ve laid off so many people that the government is now getting its economic data from DoorDash.

Senate Democrats just threw in the towel and are chastising us for getting mad that they threw in the towel
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

If you’re going to write a bunch of words about how Mamdani is just SO ANGRY at the injustice of inequality right now, I’m going to think that thou protest too much.

It’s not whether you win or lose,
It’s how you kneecapped yourself
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Schumer could say that any Democrat voting in favor of this irresponsible capitulation will be stripped of their leadership positions, lose funding, move to shittier offices and lose any chance of pushing legislation.

But he won't, because he's even more cowardly than the cowards voting yes.
*SCHUMER SAYS HE IS VOTING 'NO' ON GOP BILL

I have never ONCE given money to a candidate because the personal is political yadda yadda yadda.

If senators cave like this, I'M GOING ON A GODDAMN SPREE. EV-ER-Y primary challenger will get a goddamn check. These idiots will be written as dumber and more self-serving than Chamberlin.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

If you're going to write out a lurid list of Cuomo's accomplishments in a last-ditch effort to paint the man currently touting Trump and Musk's endorsements as some sort of progressive, maybe you should think for longer than fifteen seconds about why nobody thinks of Cuomo as a progressive.
Do they call him Cuomo, the friend of gays? Or Cuomo the prison-dismantler? Or Cuomo, the ender of cash bail? Alas, they do not...

But you kill 12k nursing home patients and sexually assault 13 office staffers, they give you a name for that!

History can be so cruel. Or fitting. Probably fitting.

Now this is a story all about how
My legs got found in Sandy town
And I'd like to take a minute, sit on that wreck there
I'll tell the mighty to look upon my works and despair
Whose legs these are I think I know.
He had a sneer of cold command.
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his legs fill up with sand.
'Twas antique and the level sands
Did stretch and decay far away
All trunkless were the legs of stone
And Ozymandias, lost, lay
