It's 968 AC.
An artificial sun shines down upon Doskvol. Autopods cruise down rows of peaceful, prosperous houses. Beneath it all, strange actors and twisted conspiracies work their shadowy agendas.

Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)

Time to start canceling nitro and shouting from the rooftops how we won't stand for this. @discord.com is collecting our information and censoring our communications and claiming its for our safety.

Don't let them get away with this.

Indie rpgs keep making cra—I mean, success at a cost. The old school and story game iterations on this basic idea are closer than ever. It's becoming more and more apparant that the main difference between the two playstyles lies in their attitude towards the shared fiction of a game.

I did a short thread on Intergalactic Bastionland's action procedure, how much it look like something from a storygamen, and why it still won't result in that type of play: bsky.app/profile/nape...

It could be really bad for Discord if Californians contact the office of the Attorney General to report the potential violations of CCPA and CALOPPA citing the recent breach from a few months back where 1.5tb of user data and millions of IDs were leaked, but who can say for sure?

Reading through Intergalactic Basionland just now, I was reminded of this blog by Dungeon Mecha.

It outlines an approach to encounters that revolves around one question: what will it cost to succeed? The procedure does away with complex series of rolls, replacing it with conversation.🧵
I Turned Into the Odd into a Story Game
Everyone’s adding levels and feats and slot-based inventory to Into the Odd. It's 10 years old. I think it’s time we start getting rid of a few things.

The oldest Junji Ito Pinball Machine.
This Super Bowl Sunday, I’d like to introduce you all to the magical curse bowls used in Upper Mesopotamia and Syria in late antiquity. Written in Mandaic (as here) or Syriac Aramaic, they trap demons who trespass on a household by sucking them in with spiraling spells to the center of the bowl.

I recently watched 'Rabbit à la Berlin' or 'Mauerhase', about the rabbit colonies that survived for generations in the dead zone between the two sides of the Berlin Wall—and today excellent Copenhagish coffees helped me write a playset for The Warren about exactly those rabbits. 🧵

Junji Ito Pinball Machine oneshot using External Containment Bureau. The initial briefing is simply the Reddit post—the agents then are free to investigate any way they like. Maybe they have access to the message board and can use it to look for clues. Could even be a livestream…

Now, of course, we all, not just me, sit here wondering how often parallel evolution produced 'bubbles from mouth parts and gesticulation with claws' as a form of communication.
#D&D spells as Flash Fiction - Animal Messenger

I initially misread the spell and thought you could maybe use this to force goats or other beasts of burden to turn wheels for mills, etc. for a day at a time. Alas, communication via crab it is.

they had the junji ito pinball machine at my hometown arcade. it was too scary for me. but one time my friend dared me to crawl underneath it in exchange for all his quarters (i was trying to beat xmen) and on the bottom was roughly etched: This work has not been paid for by John Taylor of Geekify.

@cardsagainsthumanity.com any insight on this? I understand one of the rare Junji Ito pinball machines may have existed in the Chicago area circa 2000-2010.. is it possible one of your writers played it/remembers where it was set up?
does anyone know if the Junji Ito pinball machine referenced in CAH is a real thing? googling brings up conflicting information
