But it's true that, overall, for accessibility, the game tends towards the Victorian, even if it's about 15 to 20 years too early. In that sense, it takes some of the historical liberties a popular TV show would take for the sake of aesthetics or theme.

1815 places the game well enough past a period of secularization for the hotel to be a former convent, which comes into elements of the mystery that the game centers around. It is also close to the end of the Napoleonic Wars, which form the background of one of the suspects.

The thing is: it's still bursting with character and vibes. And this time, there's also the history that echoes throughout the style. It's still very good, but it's not flashy or expensive.
