for all of US history, parties have either been in favor of imperialism or isolationism. I'm seeing a lot of posts recently that seem to believe this false dichotomy, but there's a better way forwards. It begins with dismantling the CIA, whose sole modern purpose is as a weapon of imperialism.

I think a more accurate but less sensational way to word it is "privileged times create entitled men". Conservatives believe that rich white men are entitled to everything they have, and current events show their willingness to violently enforce it, no matter how regressive it becomes.
Yeah it’s sort of funny but I’m a 100% unironic believer in that “good times create weak men” shit now, it’s totally accurate, it’s just that the kind of guys who posted it the last few years were the weak men in question.
Everything conservatives said about decadence and the dangers of moral degeneracy was right. They just utterly missed the mark when identifying the source of it.

One of the key ways I think we can improve our communities is by encouraging social interaction in our day-to-day rather than removing it. That 5 minute checkout at the grocery store is only awkward if you make it that way - it could be a very pleasant convo that brightens your day!
I recently went to a McDonald’s where you don’t interact with anyone, you just go to a kiosk and then they put your order on a rack, and the thing that gets me is that nothing on the menu cost less because of it. No benefit for me! Doubt the people in the kitchen are getting paid better!

That misrepresents the point of my newsletter. I fully support having trans people in the party and ensuring they feel comfortable using public restrooms. It is possible to hold that view while also respecting those who are uncomfortable sharing restrooms with people of a different gender.
