Mark Mitchell says 36 emails were sent to his office but also that a protocol had been put in place by the Police Commissioner's office to prevent him seeing them.

I'd love a journo to ask:

1. When was the protocol put in place?
2. When did Mark Mitchell become aware of the protocol?

The IPCA's refusal to name anyone, even when they are public figures, is simply a tool to prevent accountability. In this case we know damn well who the Assistant Commissioner of Investigations was in September 2024: Paul Basham www.rnz.co.nz/news/alert-n...

We go through this every couple of years, and that’s just what gets made public.

It’s not good enough. We all deserve better.

So let’s get this straight. Lifeline is unfunded by govt & needs $2 million. But govt just hands $24 million to Gumboot Friday and is happy to give millions to the bloody Michelin Guide for tourism puffery of dubious value. Everything this govt does is run on vibes.

Lifeline to cut operations unless funding shortfall is plugged
Lifeline Aotearoa says it has had to stop services between midnight and 7am since March, and without sustainable funding, it cannot continue a full 24/7 service.

How trustworthy are our Police
What does it say about the police & the justice system?

Extent of police falsifying breath tests 'unfathomable' - employment lawyer
Barbara Buckett says the number of staff and the fact it occurred across the country points to wider problems within the organisation.

Regardless. NZ Parliament has 20+ weeks of recess each year including a far longer summer break than most professions including teaching!!!
