Sharing this from Lincoln County Indivisible (Maine) in case you haven’t seen Trump says he’s sending the National Guard to Chicago next. We will be on the Wiscasset Bridge 4-5pm today because EVERY DAY IS NO KINGS DAY! Hope you join Cara who wanted this shared, nobody should stand alone!
This is now my new pinned post. We all need to keep this sign fixed firmly in our minds in the days to come.

WATCH — @repstevenhorsford.bsky.social : “My amendment would redirect that $40 BILLION from Argentina to fund the ACA subsidies for two years… a far better use of taxpayer dollars.”
Why do we have money for Argentina while our own people lose their health care? How does this make us great?

Weird that we have a planet-wide magnetic defense system that self activates when the sun decides to attack but it is very pretty

Of course it's appalling, but having seen the vehemence of some interpreters and knowing what this administration knows, I understand their dilemma.

Rick Scott was CEO of a large, for-profit healthcare company called HCA. While Rick Scott was CEO, HCA stole so much money from Medicare they were fined $1.7 Billion.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.

Angry though we are, we must remember this. We don't necessarily need the old Dems, but we MUSTN'T have fewer or the status quo. It'll mean some holding of noses. I think caving was a bad decision made with concern for furloughed workers and the economy; it's done, it'll burden us - and we regroup.
None of this would be happening if we had MORE Democrats to begin with.
The solution to our problem is not FEWER Democrats.
It's giving them a 60-vote threshold & a blue president so that they can pass critical legislation that rights this doomed ship.
That's our ONLY way out of this mess. 🧵

The reason why I'm so angry has a lot to do with the lives that will be lost — people are absolutely going to die as a direct result of Senate Democrats folding on health care. It also has a lot to do with the suffering that was endured — people were struggling to get by without food assistance. 🧵
