For perspective, Tesla sold 55,000 vehicles in Canada in 2024, but less than 20,000 in 2025.

Deliberately impoverishing a nation in order to provoke a civil war is one of the most evil things you can possibly think of. But that's what the US has been doing to Iran. Trying to make people suffer so much that the death and destruction of civil war becomes preferable to the status quo.

We just understand how to buy things in bulk. You pay retail prices for healthcare and call it freedom. We pay a group membership fee called taxes and get the wholesale price. Your system is a guy buying one pill at a gas station for $50. Ours is a Costco membership where the hot dogs are actually functional hospitals

Nationalization w/ compensation is legal under internat'l law. That is what Venezuela did in the 2000s. Countries do this routinely, including US allies. Calling it “stolen property,” as VP JD Vance does below, assumes U.S. corporations have permanent ownership rights over foreign natural resources.
JD Vance @JDVance You see a lot claims that Venezuela has nothing to do with drugs because most of the fentanyl comes from elsewhere. I want to address this: First off, fentanyl isn't the only drug in the world and there is still fentanyl coming from Venezuela (or at least there was). Second, cocaine, which is the main drug trafficked out of Venezuela, is a profit center for all of the Latin America cartels. If you cut out the money from cocaine (or even reduce it) you substantially weaken the cartels overall. Also, cocaine is bad too! Third, yes, a lot of fentanyl is coming out of Mexico. That continues to be a focus of our policy in Mexico and is a reason why President Trump shut the border on day one. Fourth, I see a lot of criticism about oil. About 20 years ago, Venezuela expropriated American oil property and until recently used that stolen property to get rich and fund their narcoterrorist activities. I understand the anxiety over the use of military force, but are we just supposed to allow a communist to steal our stuff in our hemisphere and do nothing? Great powers don't act like that. The United States, thanks to President Trump's leadership, is a great power again. Everyone should take note.

🔴 NEW: Israel has authorized the use of electronic tracking devices on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, allowing real-time surveillance of civilians placed under administrative movement restrictions, a new IDF directive states. It applies to civilians who have not been charged, tried, or convicted of any crime, and embeds electronic tagging into Israel’s system of military rule. The measure allows authorities to force individuals to wear or carry monitoring devices and criminalizes tampering. Israel’s defense minister Israel Katz has explicitly excluded Jewish settlers in the West Bank from the order. It was issued with coordination between the Israel Defense Forces, Israel Security Agency, Israel Police, the Ministry of Justice, and the military’s legal authorities for the West Bank. The move aligns with what journalist and filmmaker Antony Loewenstein describes as Israel’s “Palestine Laboratory.” In his work, Loewenstein argues that Israel exports not only weapons, but a model for controlling “difficult populations”—a comprehensive system combining military force, mass surveillance technology, and spatial control. This includes biometric checkpoints, AI-monitored CCTV networks, facial-recognition systems such as Red Wolf and Blue Wolf, and invasive spyware like Pegasus. These tools are deployed against Palestinian civilians, journalists, and non-violent human rights activists, many of whom are subjected to administrative detention or heightened movement and surveillance restrictions. NPR reported today that the overwhelming majority of the aid Israel is allowing into Gaza is *commercial.*

In other words, Israel is banning free food and shelter aid and only allowing in goods that Palestinians have to buy.

With money they don't have.
