There was talk on a recent episode of @xplainthexmen.bsky.social about the physical essence of comics, and Miles mentioned childhood memories of lining up a whole bunch of single issues to trace a character's evolution. The preschooler also seems to be making a pastime of this! Proud poppa here 🥹

The world is awful, but also there's a nest of bunny kits under the playset in our backyard right now, so here is an image of that nice thing.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that any space occupied by both Ta Nehisi Coates and Ms. Rachel is just and kind space.
Ms. Rachel had the same arc as Ta Nehisi Coates where learning the basic facts of the situation made her go “this is unambiguously wrong” and it freaks out the credentialists who think serious people are supposed to say it’s complicated

Disappearing an elected official.
Alina Habba tells Fox News that Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested and is being held in a secret location right now.

Martha MacCallum: "Where is he being held?"

Habba: 'I'm not going to speak to that right now. He's obviously in New Jersey."

“Were they dying from chronic disease or were they dying from Covid”

Covid. They died from Covid

This is health supremacy. Chronic illness is not someone’s fault. Disability can’t be fixed with diet & exercise. We’re no less deserving of life

This is escalating eugenics and it won’t stop with us

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too.

EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them.

All these articles about Democrats moaning over their messaging issues make me tired.

You know what's more important than messaging? ACTION.

Don't TALK about the price of eggs.

Tell people "MEET US IN THE PARK - WE'RE GIVING OUT FREE EGGS. THAT'S RIGHT - FREE EGGS FROM THE DEMOCRATS!"

trump’s desire to take over the kennedy center feels like the same ideological vein as guys who want AI to replace art. they can’t imagine creating anything from a place of sincere emotion so they seek to destroy it.

I don’t care if babies cry on planes. Planes are unpleasant. I would also like to cry on planes. If a baby cries on a plane, that is not a nuisance. That is simply a relatable baby.

As you're being furious about the executive orders rolling back trans rights, please take some time to focus on the one impacting incarcerated trans people, who are some of our most vulnerable siblings and set to face the harshest consequences of this regime on multiple fronts:

Over 100 refugees who were scheduled to be resettled in Indiana have seen their flights canceled in the last two days. Refugees make our state stronger, and the bipartisan support for U.S. refugee resettlement has been a pillar of our nation for over a century.

It seems that it is one thing to crib and twist the words of a fiery, resistant martyr like Dietrich Bonhoeffer to fascistic ends; it is another thing entirely to confront such a spirit in life. Thank you, Rt Rev Mariann Edgar Budde. youtu.be/xwwaEuDeqM8?...

I know this sounds weak, I know it.

But kindness is one of the few things we carry that can make a difference for each other.

We can’t undo all this hate, but we can still make life a little easier for others.

cis folks, please read this hideous thing. if you didn’t believe it was all one fight before, they snuck in some “fetal personhood” here. we’re in this together.

and remember: if you know a trans person, *no, you don’t.*

*we* get to decide when/if we disclose. don’t put your trans friends at risk.

I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but your survival matters — you being here is an undeniable act of resistance against being consumed. That ocean within you, so teeming with life, is a precious force breaking against the shores. Don't still those waters.

This is a perfect sentence:

"All we’ve gotten in the past decade is example after example of how little these people know about anything other than making apps that destroy something you previously loved, by hollowing it out into a subscription service that no longer works and everyone hates."

It is truly harrowing — the sheer number of people who, when faced with the choice to either help his victims or enable his behavior, chose the latter, often while forcing / coercing said victims back into his orbit.

I don't know. It just seems to me that:

1. Attaching such a grand shame to the word "felon" does a grave disservice to folk caught in the throes of an unjust criminal justice system.

2. Words of shame only matter to folk who have a sense of shame in the first place.
