All three of these books make for brilliant, whimsical reading by the way — bedtime favorites for the kiddo and parents alike.

Sending along a quick and dirty thank you for the words in the video, not just because they run pretty close to my own faith but also very much because of that. Thank you.

I adore how your Defenders run toys around with the Satanic panic of the time, and just how weird and full of heart it all is. Issue #111 is a highlight for me (Perlin / Mushynsky!!). Thank you so much for sharing this introduction, as I had very much been looking forward to this Masterworks volume.

These look very much like Herring & Robinson binds! I cherish the work they did and wish I could have given them more. I haven't had any custom jobs done since they shuttered.

Oh, that is a *magnificent* display! I love these books.

I have this on pre-order! Their saying "indefinite hiatus" gives me more hope than "cancelled." The folk who put these Marvel Masterworks volumes together do good work, and they are / were in the middle of restoring some truly brilliant stuff. I hope to see more some day.

After insurance, that still doesn't cover the hospital bills for our second (and we're still waiting on one of them, because hospital billing is oh-so-clear).

Patently untrue. While at first it appeared to be struggling in the dirt, the one the kiddo and I came across on our nature walk managed to climb up, up, up — all the way past where we could see it, maybe even to the top of the tree, all by itself!

It does seem baffling. There's a method to it, though, at least with the earliest ones, as they often picked up on dangling threads from contemporarily released collections. (The first Epic Collection, Iron Man: The Enemy Within, was a direct continuation of the Michelinie / Layton Omnibus.)

(2) ...so that the stories could be represented with the cleanest line work and colors most accurate to the original guides as possible. (This is also the presumed case for the long-absent ASM Epic Vol. 16.)

(1) Keep in mind that what you're looking at on that list was printed mostly out of sequence itself. The first ASM volumes printed were 20, 15, 22, and 1. As for that particular gap, general consensus was that they were waiting for those stories to be released in Masterworks first...

So, is this brand of cowardice and complicity innate to you, or does it come with the office?

There's a two-week old on my lap, passed out in a milk coma and making adorable gassy baby faces, alternating scrunches and smiles. Sibling is at preschool, the theme of the week is dental hygiene. Coloring pages with cartoon teeth scattered on the coffee table. Thinking small. Looks like a good day

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Imagine the goodwill doing tangible good would generate.
