I used to handle interlibrary loans for a public library. ILL is a magnificent expression of the idea that readers deserve books, and books deserve readers. It’s libraries everywhere pooling their resources for the benefit of everyone.

Killing IMLS could have killed ILL.

This is great news. 📚

I have always imagined this #1920s Callot Soeurs gown as some beautiful ornament or a piece of stained glass, the jewelled colours framed in gold feel like a precious stone rather than a woven garment @drexeluniversity.bsky.social #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

pickup trucks for the average person should not have been allowed to advance past this. if you need anything bigger, you should have to provide some kind of documentation showing you have the license and need for special heavy machinery, otherwise you get the 1990 toyota hilux

I did not paint like I planned yet again (someone make me paint a picture!). I chose to cuddle the $2700 kitten who hopefully is on the mend now. Here she is, trying to make sure she has found every last morsel of her wet food (she needs to gain weight badly, she is dangerously underweight.):

Neurodivergent folks should all be paid a stipend to do things we like to do, and the world would end up benefiting from it.
The thing about being neurodivergent is that I Like It. What I don’t like is that the world imposes numerous taxes on me for being like this.

I don’t view it as a Me problem.

hundreds of CEOs hate this one weird trick!
Costco is a really popular subject for business-success case studies but I feel like business guys kinda lose interest when the upshot of the study is like "just operate with scrupulous integrity in all facets and levels of your business for four decades" and not some easy-to-fix gimmick
“You can’t say people are our most important product and then treat them like shit.” - Jim Sinegal, co-founder of Costco

Lexington cannot confirm nor deny biting the hand that literally fed her lifesaving food today. She would also like to know whether being bundled into a towel burrito against her will can be considered a war crime or not. Thank you. #fip #cats #kittens

Lexington isn’t doing well. I was fully convinced this morning she was going to die from #FIP despite my going $2500 in debt so far to try to save her. She ate a little last night. There might be hope.
