High School Edus: do you know of any clubs that have a leadership team - not so much titles like Pres, VP, etc? Think it’s time to retire this sys of leadership, & move towards something A) bigger in avail of leadership opps and B) w/more emphasis on desire to lead rather than college apps. #edusky

Read the whole thread. @joedale shares a wealth of information for educators.
This morning, I had the pleasure of leading a session at the Summer MFL Teacher Conference at the University of Leeds titled Empowering Language Teachers with AI: Practical Tools for Everyday Teaching.

Are there any virtual education conferences, free or a small fee, this summer? Or webinars? I have not a single PL opportunity happening, but would like to change that, if possible. #edusky

@cybraryman1.bsky.social Hi there! Have you seen any info on AI chats that will be going on this summer? Either here or on the former Twitter ?

@edutopia.org I got your wishes for a happy teachers’ appreciation week in my inbox this morning. Thank you for that. You all are an important part of my professional journey, so I celebrate you, too!

Can’t wait until I can use AI for good in a manner similar to this example. There are now ways to have students chat with a bot in a controlled setting AND in French with comprehensibility. Tech has its dangers, BUT there is so much to be celebrated.

So, teachers’ appreciation could really go back to one day rather than a week. It doesn’t feel super special, and, well, the commercialization of everything. Notes from kids and a catered lunch = perfect scenario. Maybe an afternoon, gourmet coffee could be an extra bit of perfection.

RFK Jr. Encourages Americans To Do Their Own Research About Dragons
WASHINGTON—Claiming the fantastical creatures were “way too cool” to leave their investigation to a handful of so-called experts, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. 10/10 recommend taking students out on the day of your birth when it occurs on a weekday. I just did a nature scavenger hunt in French out by the pond on our campus.

Yes! When considering any question regarding (best) practices in the classroom, always ask first: What is in the best interest of my learners? (Hint: it’s not about the teacher.)

When you speak English ten times, you “pay up,” and, in this case, find one treat that wasn’t produced in a facility where there is any type of tree nut for a learner. Always remember the food allergy kids.
