I was scolded by a civil society rep in Brazil for praising this intervention by Colombia. But I stand by it till the end. We need more straightshooters and we need to embarrass both the 190+ Parties present and thepresidencies that don't focus on fossil fuels from the beginning.
1/2. “The COP of Truth cannot ignore science. 75% of carbon emissions come from fossil fuels. Today we are not even allowed to discuss pathways for a just and equitable transition away from fossil fuels.” Colombia at the close of #COP30.

50% tariffs because we put a pro-US fascist on trial and are making US tech companies liable for their crimes.

My school textbook used the 1954 US coup in Guatemala to explain US imperialism, saying it was done to stop land reform & protect US companies. Future textbooks can just print this letter.
Trump has imposed 50% tariffs on Brazil.

Because of Bolsanaro.

THE FUNNIEST THING about the comments from US people asking for this many people to show up to protest Trump - even if you aren't in the US - is....... did you protest Bolsonaro? did you support Brazilians during the Bolsonaro regime? are you protesting Milei? Modi? Meloni...? Yeah I thought not.

I'd like to see more writing on how the Musk/Trump junta feels like a frontal attack on the entire concept of virtue, in even the most traditional senses.

They are actively demonizing and punishing everyone who doesn't worship Mammon.

I have struggled with my role is as an Arabic speaker with a platform, in the face of the need in Gaza. I have decided to start a series I'm calling “Voices of Gaza” that tells a fuller story of people’s lives and dreams beyond victimhood.

I hope you'll help amplify.

The assassination plot against Lula exposes the danger of his conciliatory politics. Given the case's severity (one member was in Lula's entourage during his inauguration ceremony), Brazil must address how its military and police forces historically operate along settler colonial and imperial lines.

This horrifying video of the occupation's terroristic assault on Beirut has nearly 2k RTs on Twitter and only 2 here rn.

We need to get serious about actively resharing all the content from Palestine and Lebanon we encounter so this site is not ceded to the warmth of liberal pleasantries for good.
#Israel’i air strikes just flattened these residential apartment blocks in #Beirut. You can hear shocked screams of people in the street below as the missiles hit & the buildings collapse in just seconds. This is the daily reality of life in #Lebanon’s capital now.
