I don’t know how to say this without sounding harsh, but I need you to hear it. COVID — or SARS-2 — is not “just another cold.” It doesn’t leave you the same. Every reinfection stacks damage: brain, heart, immune system.

THE THING IS when Seymour announced the school lunches changes he said kids would be getting "normal" "non woke" food like sandwiches and fruit, and if that had actually HAPPENED, it would be so much less grim that the molten plastic poisoned slop tamariki are being served now.

Remembering the deadly quake in Ōtautahi 14 years ago and those who lost their lives. Remembering the dust and rubble and pale faces of my teens, evacuated from school to the park opposite the collapsed CCTV building. They saw too much that day.

On the day you expect a proper newspaper to go in depth on the frankly shameful saga of Tim Jago and the ACT party, stuff has chosen to go big on a Damien Gr9nt piece on…Golriz Ghahraman!

You couldn’t make this up.

This addition to the Gaiman reporting is an important read.
"Auckland is not just the place where these things happen to have occurred: this is _a story about Auckland_."

We interrupt our summer break to bring you this important piece by Emmy Rakete on Neil Gaiman and the political economy of rape.

The interactions between Gaiman, Palmer, Pavlovich, and the couple’s young child are all outlined in Shapiro’s article. There is, though, another figure in the narrative whom the article does not name...

Unconscionable that the government has invited the general public to give their reckons on the private health needs of trans youth, a very vulnerable group. Please weigh in to support trans youth, as the hate groups will surely be all over this

Reinstating prescription fees to fund cancer drugs makes no sense when they could just use the tools in the smokefree legislation to prevent smoking and largely stop one of the most common forms of cancer to free up funds for cancer treatments. #nzpol

Psychology has this thing it calls the dark triad of personality disorders, made up of narcissism, machiavellianism & psychopathy. While conceptually distinct, empirically they often overlap. I couldn't possibly say why this is on my mind today of all days. #nzpol
