National doesn't care about rangatahi getting suitable, long-lasting jobs - or even getting into education and training.

They only care about jobseeker numbers going down.

And when that's the goal, nothing is more effective than inflicting austerity to our most marginalised communities.

14 Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond

About Syd Barrett

🎶Shine on you crazy diamond
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

The Rule of Law and enriching the rich.

For £60bn private sector investment in public assets, UK govts paying £306bn + billions in servicing traps.

Govt has revived PFI, calls it Public Private Partnership (PPP) and will apply it to the NHS. Billions will be drained from public purse.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich
The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few

12. Cat stevens – Sweet Scarlet

An ode to Carly Simon

Come let us drink again, before the second show
I want you so to know there's no bridge between us
All those gates have opened now, and through the light has shone
Ah, but the song carries on...

Not surprising, really

"The NZ Index report also captures at least ten connections between the tobacco industry and current Government officials (including ministers), including many examples of the ‘revolving door’ between lobbying and political advisory roles. "

At what point do we publicly accept that NZ is deeply corrupt and the only reason why we don’t have a culture of direct payoffs and bribery (that we cite as the evidence for us not being corrupt) is because it’s not needed? The boys club gets what it wants through people playing their social roles.

Big Tech is so unregulated. If any other industry was creating products so faulty and so destructive, various agencies would be under pressure to rain down hell. But not with social media or AI. Laws around under 16s regulate US not THEM. They need to be regulated. It’s insane behavior.

This is much better advice than what's peopsed in the article.
Savings advice. I have some.

1. Vote in a Govt that DOESN’T gut employment, lower wages & kick pay equity to touch.
2. Vote in a Govt committed to affordable housing for all.
3. Vote in a Govt that is committed to affordable childcare, PT and free healthcare - including dentistry. 1/2 #nzpol
